WHERE ARE THEY NOW

Sunday June 17

6:30pm (PG)

Tonight on WHERE ARE THEY NOW, a cast member from the Brady Bunch joins Mel and Kochie live in the studio. Will it be Marcia, Jan or Cindy? Or maybe Greg, Bobby or Peter? Find out what the little boy who played Oliver in the hit film looks like now and catch up with diving legend Greg Louganis. The show also looks back on the Bali bombings with rugby great Craig Salvatori, who lost his wife in the tragedy.

In recent years the Indonesian island of Bali has been the site of two deadly terrorist bombings. In October 2002, in the resort town of Kuta, 202 people were killed, many of them Australians. Three years later, another blast claimed 23 lives. Rugby league legend CRAIG SALVATORI lost his wife Kathy in the 2002 bombing. The footy star and their two children Olivia and Eliza look back on those tragic events.

GREG LOUGANIS is best remembered for his courageous performance at the 1988 Seoul Olympic Games. After striking the back of his head on the springboard, he received stitches to his scalp wound before bravely resuming diving half an hour later. He went on to win two gold medals and is now considered the greatest competitive diver ever.

MARK LESTER was only nine when he was cast in the 1968 film Oliver! From 2000 applications, producers auditioned 250 child actors before casting Mark in the lead role of Oliver Twist. In the immensely popular musical film version of Charles Dickens’ classic he uttered the classic line, ‘Please sir, can I have some more?’ Find out about his new career path and the famous singer he’s good friends with!

Aussie band Youth Group’s cover of the song Forever Young went to number one on our charts and made them stars in America. But ever wondered where the great music video came from? It looks like it came out of another era. Well…it did! The footage was originally shot for the ABC youth program GTK back in 1975. The best skateboarders were gathered at the top of a hill on Sydney’s Northern Beaches for The Coca Cola Australian Skateboarding Championships. Thirty-two years later the hill is still there and the kids are all grown up. Find out what they’re doing now and if they’re still skating.

In Australia, about 10 people die every year from lightning strikes. Tonight Mel and Kochie meet some lucky Australians who’ve survived this terrifying ordeal. There’s GAIL HANNAH and KEVIN PEARSON, who were walking down the wooden steps of Torquay’s Jan Juc beach when they were struck down; MATTHEW COUGLE, who was in a coma for three days after being hit on a Newcastle beach; and DON WHITFORD, who works for the Bureau of Meteorology and has been struck by lightning twice!

Tonight’s MYSTERY GUEST was one of the stars of The Brady Bunch. The popular television personality joins Mel and Kochie live in the studio. Will it be Marcia, Jan or Cindy? Or maybe Greg, Bobby or Peter? Perhaps Mrs Brady or even Alice? Tune in to find out.

Hosted by MELISSA DOYLE and DAVID KOCH, WHERE ARE THEY NOW takes viewers on an entertaining trip down memory lane.
