12.00PM SUNDAY NOVEMBER 11 ON TEN

Alex and Zoe are two kids who find themselves in an extraordinary situation. After stumbling across a magical portal hidden in the town library they’re led to a parallel dimension, a sophisticated world called ANIMALIA. It’s a magical place dominated by talking animals, inhabited by Zebras in zeppelins, hogs on bikes, media mice delivering news bulletins on blue butterflies’ wings, dragons and unicorns; a drum playing gorilla, prima donna alligator, scheming tiger and one very gallant iguana.

In the Metro Library, human kids ALEX and ZOE enter a strange portal that carries them to the talking-animal world of ANIMALIA, where they are mistaken for invading monsters by the general population. In this episode, we meet ANIMALIA’s ruler, LIVINGSTONE, who befriends the kids and asks for their help in repairing the CORE, the magic orb that is at the center of ANIMALIA’s well-being. Alex and Zoe are taken under the wing of gentle but strong G’BUBU Gorilla and his best pal, the boastful IGGY D’IGUANA.

We also meet the librarian REENIE, the Elephants, the Zebras, the Hogs, the Media Mice, and the series’ two significant trouble-makers: ALLEGRA and TYRANNICUS, who take an immediate dislike to the human arrivals.

It’s the deadliest job in the world: crab fishing off the Alaskan coast in the icy Bering Sea, home of the most violent waters on earth.

During the five-day “season”, a handful of adventurers will battle Arctic weather, brutal waves, and a ticking clock for a chance at big money in this modern day gold rush. Working around the clock, and often going days without sleep, this unique breed of men, part adventurer part fisherman, will set out upon an unforgettable odyssey.

It’s been a little over twelve hours since the Opilio crab season opened, and the Bering Sea has already claimed six lives. Despite these losses, the rest of the fleet begins to pull the pots and hopes are high. For the first time this season, the seas are calm.

8.30PM FRIDAY NOVEMBER 9 ON TEN

“The Biggest Loser” US version provides the 18 strong-willed, yet hopeful, contestants with challenges, temptations, weigh-ins and eliminations until the final contestant remains to claim the title of “The Biggest Loser”. Each team works out under the supervision of professional trainers Kim Lyons and Bob Harper.

In the two-hour season premiere episode, the contestants are dropped in the middle of the desert and trainers Bob Harper (blue team) and Kim Lyons (red team) dramatically skydive to the ground below about a mile away from them.

New host Alison Sweeney explains that the first two contestants to reach the trainers will become team captains and will have the tough decision of picking five team members each. Sadly, they realise that means six people will be going home before the game has even begun. Once the teams are picked, the rejected contestants are heartbroken that their journey is already over.

But in the new season twist, former trainer Jillian Michaels returns and the rejected contestants learn they will comprise a secret black team!

Alison Sweeney (Sammy from “Days of Our Lives”) joins the fourth season of the US version of The Biggest Loser as host.

The program aims to challenge and encourage overweight contestants to shed pounds in a safe and recommended manner through comprehensive diet and exercise as they compete for a grand prize of $US250,000.

The unscripted and life-altering one-hour reality series gathers contestants from across the country to face real-life temptations, while being provided with approved weight-loss skills and resources in an effort to help them transform their bodies, health, and ultimately, their lives.

9.30PM THURSDAY NOVEMBER 8 ON TEN

A high profile book publisher is found beaten to death outside her apartment. The victim, Serena Derby, recently published a book that hypothetically talks about how J.P. Lange, a famous baseball star, would have killed his wife, even though he was acquitted of the crime. The book was recently pulled from the shelves, but detectives Green and Cassady think someone wanted to punish Serena anyway.

Serena’s assistant says Lange called several times the day before and their last conversation ended in an argument. Serena left a few hours later for dinner – it turns out she dined with Lange. Green and Cassady question Lange and he reveals they were having an affair. Once the book was pulled he tried to dump her, which she didn’t take very well. He went to dinner with her to end it and gave her an autographed copy of the book signed ‘screw you’.

Strangely the book is nowhere to be found and later turns up on eBay where the seller says she bought it from Gerald Stockwell – Lange’s ghost writer who was fired after the first draft. With proof that Stockwell was in possession of the book, Serena’s blood on the book and his fingerprints at the crime scene Stockwell is arrested for the murder, despite his pleas that the book was planted on his doorstep.

In a bid to clear his name Stockwell offers McCoy and Rubirosa proof that one of the jurors in Lange’s trial was paid off to force an acquittal. The juror in question, Lydia Neville, admits she was the holdout because Serena offered her a book deal if she could cause a hung jury. The book never happened, so Lydia began blackmailing Lange for money.

Was Lange so frustrated by Serena’s refusal to reveal the blackmailer’s identity that their argument escalated to murder?

TRIVIA: Can you guess which famous sports star the character of J.P Lange is based on? Hint: His book is called “If I Did It: Confessions of the Killer”.

7.30PM THURSDAY NOVEMBER 8 ON TEN

TEN is streaming HOUSE direct from the US…so direct in fact that episode six hasn’t even aired yet so TEN Publicity can’t even provide you with a preview.

We could use our creative license and develop a highlight that leaves you wanting more…more House, more Cuddy and more Wilson.

We could discuss the fact that Dr. Gregory House (Hugh Laurie) is devoid of bedside manner and most probably always will be. We could discuss the fact that he suffers from constant physical pain. He uses a cane that seems to punctuate his acerbic, brutally honest behaviour.

We could discuss the fact that House is a maverick physician whose unconventional thinking and flawless instincts have afforded him a great deal of respect.

We could discuss a lot of things but we just thought we would leave you with some of his rules (or House-isms) that House constantly refers to…the majority of which deal with lying!

House believes that,

“Everybody lies”.
“I don’t ask why patients lie, I just assume they all do.”
“It’s a basic truth of the human condition that everybody lies. The only variable is about what.”
“Truth begins in lies.”
“I’ve found that when you want to know the truth about someone that someone is probably the last person you should ask.”
“You want to know how two chemicals interact, do you ask them? No, they’re going to lie through their lying little chemical teeth. Throw them in a beaker and apply heat.”
