Network Ten guilty of subliminal advertising

Network Ten has been found to have breached the Commercial Television Industry Code of Practice during the 2007 broadcast of the ARIA Music Awards but will not be penalised.

During the introduction of nominated artists, Network Ten flashed single frames of sponsor logos from Chupa Chups, Big W, Olay, Telstra Bigpond, KFC and Toyota.

The ACMA found that the "rapid-cut graphics used in the programme was a technique that attempted to convey information to viewers below or near the threshold of normal awareness".

The only requirement of the ACMA is that Network Ten must hand all production staff the ACMA findings, refresh their memory about the code clause in their contracts and tell them not to do it again.

Future breaches will result in significantly heightened compliance measures.

If you look at the dear's face on the Tooheys New label you will see a subliminaly imbeded SEX across its face. The E is right next to the nostril (easy enough to see)the X is the dark part that forms a cross in the inner right ear and the S is the ear on the left.So the S snd E are light and the X is dark.Take a look.
