Dear Dr Harry,
We have a 13 year old female cat that we relocated from Queensland to Sydney about 9 months ago. She has gone from a rural property but always lived in and around the house. We now live in a 3 story large, apartment which she has adapted to beautifully, using the kitty litter and accessing the large balcony for the sun.
Our problem is that she has taken lately to meowing loudly in the middle of the night. I think calling for a male cat.
She used to have only one kitten a year and we have not got her neutered as when we inquired, because of her age, it was going to be a very expensive exercise.
Do you have any solution or suggestions for this problem?
Thanks,
Wendy

Dr Harry,
My names Louise i am 15 years old & i am writing to you regarding my 6 month old Border Collie x Husky, Eli (Elijah). He has got into a bad habit of digging at the moment there is about.. 10 holes in our backyard. We also rent our house which doesnt help. Aswell as the digging he gets out of the yard via digging under the back fence, he wouldnt go far but we are on a street away from a main road, where my kitten got ran over & killed a year ago. I know that he is going through the puppy stage & also that Border Collies need alot of exercise etc. but i walk him everyday & when it isnt possible for me to walk him he behaves & doesnt dig? on the days i do walk him he will come home & dig. he is a good dog but because he is doing so much damage to the yard we might have to rehome him which i would really hate to do. i had to put my dog of 8 years down due to Severe Kidney Failure which we couldnt help, a couple of months before we got Eli & i dont want to have to lose Eli due to something i could fix. Thankyou, Louise.

Dear Dr Harry, My 8year old malamute cross Kelpy, blue heeler is frustratingly scared of thunder ever since we babysat a burnese mountain dog who was gunn shy. I never had a problem with him untill then. Now he just gets worse each year. He stands at the back door with a high pich wining and destroying the door with his claws. It wakes my daughter up at night who needs her beauty sleep beening only 2yrs. My other dog who is a 16yrs silky X is not bothered by lighting.
I have tryed everything i can think of. I have resorted to locking him in the downstairs laundry so i cant hear him. I would have him inside if he didnt shed so much ferr. CAN YOU HELP ME ??????

We have a 7 month old kitten who won't use the litter box for no 2's. Instead, she uses the garage floor, which is, to say the least, disgusting!
Dr Harry, all the web sites I find tell me that cats are easy to toilet train - but I can't find anywhere that tells me what to doif sho won't be easily trained.

Dr Harry
I have two Kelpies, female 3yr old and male 1yr old. We have had both dogs since they were pups. Our female is very protective of my partner and I. The female is forever growling and showing her teeth to our male dog. She has attacked him a couple of times. I feel sorry for our male dog as he has become very scared. Our female never use to do things like this untill she was attacked by a pit bull (jaw locked). The female is a very jealous dog, i think she expects that we only pay attention to her and when we are patting her for example and the male comes up to me as well she may attack or growl at him.
Not sure what to do, and i don't want our dogs to become Vicious.
Regards
Mel

Dr Harry,
I have a 4 year old tabby cat who is very loving and cuddly, the reason my sister and I called him snuggles. But there are two problems: one, he's not drinking out of his water bowl. Instead he drinks out of the buckets we have around the house and sometimes we catch him drinking out of the toilet. How do I stop him doing this?
Second problem. We moved into our new house about 6 months ago and we've seen a white cat in our garden. Snuggles will occasionally come inside with small scratches over his face. Is it possible to stop this cat coming into our garden and attacking Snuggles?
Hope you can help
Emma

Hello Dr. Harry.
My name is Raiyan Shahab. I am 13 years old and live in Sydney. I have a black and white short fur domestic cat. She is so adorable. We heard from a friend that feeding her bones is good for her teeth so when we gave her a bone at dinner time she ate the WHOLE bone. She didn't seem to be sick or look sick for that matter. But when I came home she acted strangely. She started walking strangely as in she was sort of hunching and she kept on crying and scraping herelf like she's scratching herself against he carpet and ground. She then acted fine. Last night she did the same thing and didn't srtop. She aslo did the same thing this morning.
Please help us Dr. Harry. We truly need your help.

Dear Dr Harry,
We have a very serious situation with our dog. She is a black lab called Bonnie and she is 8 years old. We have had Bonnie since she was 4. She has always been the best dog you could own. About 6 months ago someone tried to break into our house and they scared her a possibly hurt her as well. Since then she has changed. She is fine and her normal self when we are home but when we are out she would try and get out of the yard. She was succeeding for a while but then we found out how she was getting out and fixed the fence so she couldn't jump it. We also took her to the vet who put her on a couple of types of drugs. This seemed to fix the problem for a while but as I didn't want my dog doped up all the time we stopped giving them to her when they ran out. She seemed ok for a bit then she actually started breaking the fence to get out. We then upgraded the fence so would be impossible as she was hurting herself getting out and she still got out. She cut her pore while doing it. We had found that leaving the house open (as we don't have a dog door) would ease her but then she started to destroy door handles and blinds. She then had to be put in the back yard again. Yesterday I cam home to find that she had eaten her way through some glass which was packed very tightly together for a new door we are having installed. We took her to the vet and they have given her a hormone injection to try and help the behavior. Also she had rubbed her ear on the ground so hard that she needs an operation asap. this operation is costing quiet alot. My concern is her on going stress and the fact that we don't have lots of money for her top continue to self harm and destroy things. Please help me....

Dear Dr Harry
I saw an episode where you demonstrated the use of a training collar which sprayed citronella as a deterant for unwanted behaviour in dogs. I have a spaniel who insists on battering away at my glass door and I need to stop this without rewarding her by going to her to stop this behaviour.
Lady is a rescue dog and will do anything for constant attention and this includes being told off for attacking the door. Her need for attention is constant and I am willing to take the time to train her so she will be a happier well balanced dog, however this behaviour is dangerous and I am terrified she is actually going to break the glass. Can you tell me from where I can beg, borrow, buy or steal one of these collars as I need to nip this in the bud as soon as possible.
Sincerely
Erina

Could you please help me find where i can write to Dr Harry with a pet problem i have, how do people with pet problems get on your show?
The problem is i have 2 bengal cats , a boy and a girl. The girl is turning 3 this year and was fully toilet trained but since moving her from New Zealand to Australia she has stopped using the litter tray for no.2 only and instead does her business on the floor inside. I think we would make a great feature on the show for Dr Harry's segment and would love any help that could be given. Many Thanks, Crystal
