Mount Hutt, near Christchurch, New Zealand has today been announced by MTV Networks Australia as the location for the third annual MTV Snow Jam. This year’s main event will take place on Saturday August 16 at world class luxury resort, Terrace Downs, in the valley of Mount Hutt and will be available to Australian viewers on Thursday August 28 at 4pm AEST. Terrace Downs will be transformed into a one day free music festival featuring back to back performances from local and international acts. The Grates, The Potbelleez, Opshop and Cut Off Your Hands are the first artists to join the bill with more acts to be announced soon.

MTV Networks Australia today announces Aussie pop/rock princesses, The Veronicas, who will take to the stage to announce internationally acclaimed music mogul, Timbaland, as the first ever recipient of the ‘International Music Artist Of The Year’. And in response to overwhelming demand, the network also announces the release of a limited number of tickets to the MTV Australia Awards on sale now through Ticketek, giving fans the chance to witness history in the making as well as party alongside their favourite celebs. The MTV Australia Awards 2008 will broadcast on MTV, Saturday April 26 from 7:30pm with an encore screening on FOX8 Sunday April 27 from 6pm and Saturday May 3 from 7:30pm.

MTV Networks Australia today announced Hollywood party girl Kim Kardashian to join the star studded list of presenters at the MTV Australia Awards 2008 on April 26. Kim will head to Australia with her sister, Khloe, to attend the MTV Australia Awards and they will also sit front row at the glamorous premiere of Australian Label Ruth Tarvydas’ new collection on Monday 28th April @ 7pm at RAFW. In what will be a whirlwind 48 hours for the rapper, Dizzee will touch down in Australia after being the star performer on the MTV NZ Mile High Gig. Rockin’ the skies at 37,000 feet, the gig of a lifetime will leave Auckland for Sydney on Friday April 25 and will see Dizzee perform alongside New Zealand’s hottest performer, Scribe. The award show’s list of celebrity presenters will now also include fellow, New Zealand Mile High Gig performer Scribe.

MTV Networks Australia today announced that FOXTEL presenter and Olympic swimming icon Ian Thorpe will present World Surfing Champion Mick Fanning with the first ever MTVAA ‘Sports Award’. Ian Thorpe will take to the stage to present the nine-time world champion surfer with the award to a live audience at the MTV Australia Awards 2008, Saturday April 26 from 7:30pm with an encore screening on FOX8 Sunday April 27 from 6pm and Saturday May 3 from 7:30pm.
