90210 News Ten dumps 90210

90210

After just four episodes, Channel 10 hasn't just moved one of the hottest new teen dramas to a weaker timeslot, it's dumped the show altogether.

The much-hyped series, which is a remake of the '90s phenomenon Beverly Hills 90210 and catapulted Hollywood stars Shannen Doherty, Luke Perry and Jennie Garth to fame, has been dumped due to poor ratings in Australia. The show only had 616,000 viewers in its last screening in prime time and fell well short of expected numbers with 837,000 viewers during its pilot.

Ten had initially decided to move the program to Friday evenings but the network has now decided that the show won't return until the non-ratings period over the summer.

Ten purchased 90210 before viewing the pilot and had hoped it would live up to the hype.

Australian Idol Recaps In Memoriam - S06E21

Levi Kereama from season one is remembered tonight after his tragic death over the weekend.

Unfortunately, one of tonight's Idols are going to suffer a similar, yet not so tragic, departure.

The bottom three this week are Madam Parker, Roshani Priddis and Chrislyn Hamilton who each sing again for our vote.

Thanh's performance was the favourite of the night, not that that should come as any surprise.

Metro Station perform their hit single Metro Station - Metro Station - Shake It Shake It.

Safe is: Roshani. Going home is Madam Parker.

They're the fifth highest selling act of all time and tonight our Australian Idols are performing tributes to Abba.

Voting Details

This is the first week I haven't really liked what Chrislyn has done. I don't think this was the best song choice for Chrislyn but at least she looked like she was having fun.

Australian Idol Rants Sophie Paterson's song choice formula

6 Oct regan's blog | 1 comment | 52 reads

1) Find a great uptempo, fun song

2) Reduce the tempo to boredom

3) Rework the arrangement to make it sound dull

4) Sing it with pitchiness

5) Hope people will want to hear another song destroyed next week

Please Australia! Send her home!!

What has been your most memorable storyline and why?
There are so many, but arresting Corey for poisoning Irene was my first big storyline, so that one. And definitely the wedding, lots of love, explosions and fire. Whatever happened to the wedding cake?

What is your onscreen dad, Jon Sivewright, like?
He seems like a good bloke. Reminds me of a country boy – he’s a bit of an outback croc hunter kind of guy. He’s very supportive and always looks out for people. Big heart.

Is it annoying when your fans keep coming up to you?
No, it’s a part of the job. Sometimes it gets repetitive with the same questions but it’s nice when people say hi, and we have a normal conversation. It’s all good – I’d be upset if I didn’t have fans.

Do you get any say over what you wear on the show? Was it your idea to wear that lace around your neck?
No, I can't take credit for that. We have a group of fantastic wardrobe girls who decide what our characters wear, but they always make sure you feel comfortable in what you've got.

Do you have any brothers or sisters, or pets?
I have two sisters, both older than me. And at the moment I don't have any pets.

What are your favourite bands?
I have weird taste in music. I like pretty much everything except techno and girly pop. At the moment I'm really into Snow Patrol, Powderfinger, Atmosphere and The Herd.

Are all of your friends jealous that you've gotten to kiss the Home And Away hotties?
If they are, they'd never let on. No, I don't think so, because I tell them how weird it is kissing someone with all these cameras everywhere and people watching.

Are you single?
No.

Do you have a celebrity crush?
No. I used to, but real boys in the flesh are so much better.

How old are you?
I'm 19 and my birthday is October 24, 1987.

What movies have you been in apart from Aquamarine?
I was in Voodoo Lagoon with Beau Brady and Natalie Blair. It was great fun and such a massive learning experience for me. I've also done a few guest roles, but this is the biggest thing I've done so far.

Are you anything like your character, Geoff?
There are some similarities — the fact that I love footy and that Geoff and I both love our families more than anything. I really admire his sense of honesty and the fact that he believes there's good in everyone. As for differences, I'm a talkative person and I make a fool of myself pretty much every day, whereas Geoff is introverted and doesn't talk much.

What has been your best experience working on the show so far?
Pretty much walking on set every day is a highlight. Travelling to different locations, meeting new people, doing these interviews and hearing from fans — I just love it! It's all really cool.
