THIS VERY SPECIAL EPISODE WILL SEE THE LIFEGUARDS TAKE ON THE ROLES OF DETECTIVES IN A CLASSIC CASE OF 'WHODUNNIT' ON OUR VERY OWN BONDI BEACH.

Off duty lifeguard Ben Sutherland is training at Bondi's north end when he spots a shark in the water. The water is cleared and a search mounted but no shark is spotted.

Days later a man and his girlfriend come to the tower that he had been bitten by a shark the previous night at 8.30pm and woke up this morning at 10am.

He changes one detail of his story when pressed by the ambulance officer.

After he's taken to hospital, lifeguards debate whether they believe his story or not. Senior lifeguards Bobby and Hoppo both do. Younger lifeguard Chappo is dubious.

Chappo and Maxi investigate the south end cave (where the victim Scott and his girlfriend Kelly claimed to have slept the night before) and retrieve Scott and Kelly's belongings. Even though Scott said he was bleeding profusely, they don't find any blood.

Just as lifeguards are starting to doubt Scott's story, Tom and Brooke find a 3metre shark drowned in the Bondi shark net.

Lifeguards call on the services of a shark expert who reckons Scott's injuries do not resemble a shark attack injury because only one side of his arm has been bitten. He corrects lifeguards who are under the impression, wobbegongs only have teeth on their upper jaw.

Lifeguards receive an anonymous tip off that Scott is a liar and wanted by Tasmanian police. His con is confirmed when the Sydney Morning Herald reports Scott has been arrested for theft. It is suspected Scott received his 'shark attack' injuries performing a break and enter.

Next day lifeguards run into Kelly who confirms the deceit. She says the reason she went along with the lies was because she was scared of him.
