Monday July 30
7:30pm (PG)
The fight to protect our border continues on BORDER SECURITY - AUSTRALIA’S FRONT LINE. In tonight’s episode, a New Zealand man with a shady past is stopped at the border; customs dig up a treasure chest of trouble; and Customs Officers discover a mystery box which outdates this country.
A New Zealand man travelling with a female friend has been stopped at Sydney Airport. He hasn’t declared any criminal convictions on his passenger card, but Immigration believes he might be hiding a crooked past. Will his big secret stop him entering the country? As well as lying about his criminal convictions, his plane seat has also tested positive for traces of cocaine. He insists he’s not carrying any drugs. So why’s he acting so nervously?
A Quarantine baggage search has just uncovered a suspicious quantity of undeclared jewellery and now Customs is involved. The woman from China claims the goods are all presents for family and friends. Despite the passenger’s denials, it’s clearly a commercial quantity of jewellery. So far, there are holes in her story and she still seems to be hiding something. She’s carrying a credit card in another’s person name which continues to arouse suspicion. Is she telling the truth?
