A swag of changes from GEM.

Sunday Mar 6 at 10.45pm will be Primetime Crime, instead of Birds of a Feather. The movie Chisum follows at 11.40pm.

Wed Mar 9 – its on, its off, its on again – the extra episode of The Zoo at 7.30pm. But only for one week. That is followed by As Time Goes By, instead of The Golden Girls. The Zoo is normally on Monday – Friday 7pm as well as Mondays at 7.30pm.

At 8.30, the movie is Presumed Innocent, instead of Fracture.

Moving to Friday March 11, at 9.30 will be an encore of Harry’s Law. Harry’s Law premieres on Nine Sunday March 6 at 9.30pm, the encore on GEM will be in HD and will be ongoing at this stage. It replaces the second episode of the Mentalist that was scheduled for Fridays at 9.30pm.

Sunday March 13, at 11.10pm is first run Biography – Serial Killers, followed by the movie Dodge City at midnight.

Wednesday March 16, the series return of Trouble in Paradise will air at 8.30pm.

Hear the incredible stories of travellers who’ve been subjected to terrifying experiences while on holidays in different parts of the world. They escaped with their lives, but it could easily happen to any one of us. Tonight, Aussie chef and his Polish fiancée celebrate their engagement but are brutally bashed by thugs and pursued by corrupt police.

This replaces the first run premiere of Gordon’s Great Escape – a show already promoted by some media as one to watch on GEM. No word on where Gordon’s Great Escape will now land, but its out of GEM’s schedule for now.

The problems with Ten programming continue.

In reaction to poor ratings, from next Wednesday March 9, Blue Bloods will move to Fridays at 9.30pm, which means that Law & Order is out on Friday nights from March 11.

In a move that absolutely smells of desperation, at 8.30 next Wednesday March 9 will be one hour of Modern Family – and yes – they are repeats.

Given that Modern Family repeats were dieing off in summer – what makes Ten think they will work at 8.30 on a Wednesday night?

Combined with the repeat of NCIS on Tuesday, that is now two prime time hours (Sun – Thur) with repeat content in only the fifth week of ratings. Not good.

Why not move Lie to Me to 8.30 and put Burn Notice on at 9.30? And the question remains why Ten don’t put new NCIS: LA on Tuesday night at 9.30, after new NCIS.

No word on where Law & Order will land.

Yes – ratings are not great for Ten, but changing the program every week will only make it worse. They – and Nine – are up against a very strong and incredibly stable line up from Seven and changing programs around every week – moving timeslots – adding doubles episodes randomly – thronging in random repeats of shows that normally do well – simply will not work in this environment.

The arrival of Warburton to Ten cannot come soon enough.

Iconic US actress Lily Tomlin will be joining UK Superstar Louie Spence to host the FOXTEL broadcast of the 2011 Sydney Gay And Lesbian Mardi Gras Parade along with Charlotte Dawson, Ruby Rose, Matthew Mitcham as well as many special guests.

Arena will broadcast the event Live and Exclusive on Saturday, March 5 from 7.30pm.

This year’s Mardi Gras broadcast will be camper and wilder than ever with new host positions, extraordinary performances, singing, dancing and explosions fit for the world’s most scandalous and spectacular celebration on earth.

The night will include more cameras, more stages, more cranes and our chopper in the stars with the route filmed from the start of Oxford Street, past Taylor Square and finishing on South Dowling Street. Viewers won’t miss a moment of the madness all helmed from Charlotte Dawson’s prime host position.

Legend of laughter, actor and comedienne Lily Tomlin will be at the start area kicking off the parade with a call to arms to all parade entrants, the cameras will follow Lily as she goes up the Mardi Gras route for the first time ever.

International dance sensation Louie Spence will be dancing up a storm in Taylor Square – he will be let off like a rocket in the crowd.

Ruby Rose and trolley dolly to the stars, Pam Ann will be roving the crowds live from cattle class on the streets. Courtney Act and Olympic Gold Medal winner, Matthew Mitcham will be interviewing celebs, including Chelsea Handler and other VIPs on the night. Zoe Badwi will do a live performance of her dance hit Freefalling.

By pressing the red button on their FOXTEL remote during the Live parade, viewers can see a multi-window screen with two different views. Choose from either the Live Studio Feed or the Uncut Parade Feed with LIVE DRAG ANALYSIS from FOXTEL’s very own team of fabulous Drag Queen Hosts.

Miss Penny Tration, Tora Hymen and Candy Box, will be commentating the parade when you hit the red button for almost three hours – completely ad free. Whatever your choice, Arena has all the Mardi Gras angles you want to see covered.

Don’t watch it alone – make a party of it in your own loungeroom – it’s time to Mardi Gras!

Nine have issued an amendment for tomorrow night 7.30pm – dumping a Two and a Half Men repeat and a Mike and Molly encore for an episode of 20-1 instead.

The 20-1, a first run episode for Melbourne, repeat in Sydney and Brisbane, is called Caught on Tape:

We’re in for the good, the bad and the ugly as we countdown some of the most captivating events caught on tape. These are the moments we discussed around the water cooler and shared over the internet.

With NRL starting next Friday March 11, this is the last Friday until late September of network programming on Nine.

While Sydney and Brisbane have their respective NRL games on Nine, other markets have alternative programming usually a mix of factuals and sitcom repeats at 7.30 with movies from 8.30.

Last night original cast members, including Val Lehman, Colette Mann, Judith McGrath, Elspeth Ballantyne, Fiona Spence, Carol Burns, Jane Clifton, Patsy King and Margaret Laurence, gathered in Melbourne to celebrate the return of Prisoner to television, starting March 7 weeknights at 6.30pm, on 111 HITS.

Based around the lives of the staff and inmates at a high security all female prison, Wentworth Detention Centre, Prisoner was an instant hit with viewers with its’ winning formula of  power struggles for ‘Top Dog’ status, escape attempts, drug taking, alcohol-making and murder.

Enjoying enduring popularity in the decades since it first screened, Prisoner has an international cult following for its tackling of issues such as suicide, homosexuality, domestic violence and social reform.

Alex Ristevski, Channel Manager 111 HITS said, “This show is as iconically Australian as Vegemite, but with greater export success. I hope a new generation will get to enjoy and appreciate it as much as we did.”

The 692 episode series cemented a place in history with characters such as inmates “Queen Bea” Smith, Doreen Anderson, Franky Doyle, Chrissie Latham, Margot Gaffney, Gladys “Marilyn” Mason and the much loved Lizzie Birdsworth along with prison guards aka ‘screws’, Meg Jackson, Vera “Vinegar Tits” Bennett, Joan “The Freak” Ferguson and Jim “Fletch the Letch” Fletcher.

Singer songwriter Ella Hooper from The Verses has re-recorded a version of the theme song “On The Inside” to celebrate the return of Prisoner. “On The Inside” by Ella Hooper can be seen on www.facebook.com/111HITS or www.youtube.com/111Hits.

Whether you’re a screw, a top dog, a freak, or just curious, there’s something for everybody in one of the most watched Australian soaps ever….Prisoner.nd  Jessica Parker, OW I MET YOUR MOTHER, new to 111 HITS in March. w single women, Manhatten and shoes.

Network Ten, today announced live on The Circle that much loved comedian and TV host Colin Lane will be taking over the role of host for this season’s Ready Steady Cook.

Fresh from the set of The Circle, where he has been filling in for Gorgi Coghlan during her maternity leave, Colin will begin filming in April, with his first episode going to air on Tuesday 14th June.

“Having accepted the role of host I have only just realised that my job now involves eating incredible food every day” says Colin Lane. “I am very excited at the prospect of enjoying and learning about food and I’m looking forward to working with so many wonderful chefs and guests. This could be the best job in the world. Or, this could be the greatest increase in weight ever seen on TV. My 2011 television career might start with The Circle, lead into Ready Steady Cook and end with The Biggest Loser.”

Colin Lane is best known as the Lano from Lano and Woodley, Australia’s best loved comedy duo. In almost 20 years together Lano & Woodley won the coveted Perrier Award for best show at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, starred in their own television series and toured sold out shows across the country.

Sadly they are no longer, after saying ‘Goodbye’ in 2006 with a national tour that took in 34 markets and sold more than 125,000 tickets.

“Having Colin at the helm of Ready Steady Cook promises lots of fun and a bit of craziness in the kitchen along with great cooking and tips from Australia’s best chefs,” says Virginia Hodgson, executive producer, Southern Star Entertainment.

Since the farewell tour, Colin has appeared in Don’s Party for the Melbourne Theatre Company, followed by a season with the Sydney Theatre Company. He presented Wine Me, Dine Me and Kings of Comedy for the Nine Network and has made numerous appearances on ABC TV’s Spicks and Specks and Network Ten’s Good News Week.

Colin will be talking over the helm from former host, Peter Everett, who has hosted Ready Steady Cook for five years, recording over 600 shows.

“We wish Peter the best of luck with all his new adventures; he has been a great host over the years and has brought many new fans to the show. Colin is a wonderful addition to the Ready Steady Cook team, bringing a style and lightness to the show that is perfect for the year ahead.” says Maria Michael, Executive Producer of Entertainment at TEN.

The most successful hosts in talk show history, Sir Michael Parkinson and Sir David Frost, turn the tables on each other when Channel Nine screens two exclusive interviews in a special presentation on Monday, March 7 and 14, at 9.30pm.

Michael Parkinson and David Frost begins on March 7 with Parkinson: The Frost Interview. “Parky”, on a set complete with his theme song and famous staircase, will engage Frost, with no subject off limits.

David Frost’s television career started in the 1960s with the brilliant satirical BBC series, That Was the Week That Was. He is best known for his programs with world leaders, most notably Richard Nixon. Frost famously risked his personal fortune and reputation to secure the sensational interview with the disgraced US President that was recreated in the movie Frost/Nixon.

Frost will recount his colourful career in inimitable style, highlighted by archival footage of some of his most memorable moments.

Then on March 14 at 9.30pm, it’s Frost on Parkinson. With Parky in the hot seat, Frost will fire off the questions about his rise to stardom on television in the UK and Australia in a career spanning more than 40 years. In more than 800 shows, Parkinson has interviewed over 2000 guests and unearthed many of today’s most famous talents, including Billy Connolly. Throughout the interview viewers will be privy to classic moments from Parkinson’s own extensive archive.

Michael Parkinson and David Frost offers a rare glimpse into the lives of two titans of television whose careers have shadowed each other since the 1960s. They will reminisce about their time together launching breakfast television on an unsuspecting British public, and the way they’ve dealt with fame. They will also put the modern phenomenon of celebrity under the microscope and discuss whether their special style of interviewing that enthralled viewers around the world has gone forever.

Monday, March 7, at 9.30pm – Parkinson: The Frost Interview

Monday, March 14, at 9.30pm – Frost on Parkinson
