More TBA's on Channel 9 than Two and a Half Men

Every week, like most other TV networks, channel 9 send out a press release to media outlets like Throng informing them as to the programs that are coming up on their network. Usually the press release will be for programming two or three weeks into the future, and will contain both scheduling information as well as descriptions of what episodes are being shown of certain shows. The intent is that the media will use this information to promote what is going on with each network.

This morning, we received the programming press release for channel 9 for the week starting Sunday August 2. I thought it would contain a wealth of information worthy of passing onto throng’s readers as to what will be on channel 9 that week.

Unfortunately, that was not the case with Sunday night after 8.30, Monday night after 8.30, and Saturday night after 7.30 all showing “TBA”.

While it is not uncommon these days for 9 to determine its Sunday night programming at the last minute, especially now they are showing movies, it is uncommon to have so many TBA’s in the one week. Sometimes, even the Saturday night movies show as TBA’s as well. Then there is Monday night. With Sea Patrol season 3 concluding, there is an opening in 9’s Monday night line up.

This is the week prior to Go starting, so I imagine 9 may be holding back some programming while they figure out the program for GO! I can’t wait to see GO!’s program, based on the shows that will be on GO!, it is shaping up to be better than regular 9 programming with more to offer more people.

The week starting August 2 on 9 sees no changes to regular programming. 20-1 is still on Tuesday and Thursday night. Two and a Half Men still at 7pm as well as one hour on Tuesday night. Dance Your Ass off still on Tuesday night at 7.30 - BUT - this is channel 9 here - I will not be surprised if that show is off the air after one week, relegated to an extremely late time slot on GO!99. Perfect couple Wednesday night. Apart from the TBA’s, no changes to 9’s programming that week.

Can’t wait to see the programming for GO!, but am concerned what it will be like given 9’s current programming track record. At least all of those shows on 9 we have given a go in the past year or two will be there for us to continue watching. Hopefully they start the axed 9 shows from episode 1, and run them in episode order.
