I've seen the first four episode of Dexter 3, Season 3 ... my non-spoiler sneak preview review has no spoilers for Season 3, but will of course have spoilers for Seasons 1 and 2 ..

10.10pm sunday / september 28

Dexter's loyalties are put to the test as he follows clues that the Ice Truck Killer leaves for him. But as Dexter goes on the hunt, he wonders just how deep he will have to go down the Ice Truck Killer's dark and demented path. Meanwhile, as Dexter remains unavailable to Rita, her exhusband, Paul, tries to convince her that Dexter is a very dangerous man to have around their children.

10.40pm sunday / AUGUST 31

While looking into a series of suicides of high profile, powerful women, Dexter discovers a pattern: they all saw the same psychiatrist - Dr. Emmett Meridian. Dexter then proceeds to follow "Harry's Code" and stalk the shrink, becoming one of his new patients so he can ascertain whether or not he is the killer.

Dexter's theory is proven but Dr Meridian unexpectedly helps Dexter unlock dark secrets from his past. Will this help him escape the brutal murder Dexter has planned for him?

Meanwhile, Debra's latest relationship with Rudy quickly heats up. She is falling for him but Rudy has a secret - is he who he appears to be?

Dexter's relationship with Rita seems to be in danger, as her estranged husband Paul works his way deeper back into her life. Much to Rita's consternation, the kids love him and he's actually civil to her is he a changed man and is Dexter in danger of losing her?

10.10pm sunday / AUGUST 24

Debra and Angel find proof that their number one suspect Neil Perry, is the Ice Truck Killer, when they find a body beneath his trailer park home. A manhunt ensues to find and capture Neil before he kills again.

As more and more evidence rises to the surface, Dexter is left adrift. Neil Perry, the supposed Ice Truck Killer, doesn't live up to his expectations - Dexter has his doubts and sets out to investigate on his own.

Meanwhile, Dexter is forced to juggle The Ice Truck Killer investigation with his 'personal' cases when he discovers a teenager he caught and released, murders again. As a result, Dexter sets out to correct this mistake in one of the only ways he knows how.

Dexter has a lot on his plate and the return of Paul, Rita's paroled ex-husband, is not helping matters. Paul even confronts Dexter, letting him know that he doesn't like Dexter being around his wife and kids. But Paul doesn't know who he is messing with!

9.40pm sunday / AUGUST 17

Dexter arrives at a crime scene at the Castillo junkyard and find one of his victims he "disposed of", has mysteriously returned to the scene of the kill. Dexter believes that it's the Ice Truck Killer, who is cryptically letting him know that he is aware of what Dexter is up to, while also putting him in danger of being caught by his peers.

The noose is tightened further, when LaGuerta finds a young Cuban boy hiding at the crime scene — there's no way he missed seeing Dexter capture the victim.

Dexter has to figure out a plan to stay out of the crosshairs of his own Homicide Division while investigating his own crime. Will this young boy spell the end for Dexter?

Meanwhile, Rita has to deal with her abusive ex-husband, Paul, when he's released from jail and wants to come to their daughter's birthday party.

9.40pm sunday / AUGUST 3

Debra's discovery of a live victime of the Ice Truck Killer, Tony Tucci, gives La Guerta and her Homicide detectives their first chance to identify the notorious serial killer. Debra and Doakes, assigned to the case, sit with the mutilated victim, in the hope that he will be able to identify the killer. Deb suggests blindfolding Tucci to uncover suppressed memories from his experience. It works and Tucci remembers key evidence that will help crack the case wide open.

9.50pm sunday / JULY 27

As the hunt for Tony Tucci continues, posed body parts start surfacing. Is there a new killer in town or, are these the calling cards of an irritated Ice Truck Killer? The mysterious Ice Truck Killer escalates his killing spree by leaving body parts of his latest victim at sites that relate to memories from Dexter's childhood, which leads him to confront his dark personal history.

As Halloween approaches, Rita takes drastic steps to quiet a barking dog from it's cynical owner who keeps her children up at night. Lt. Laguerta seeks a way to comfort the mother of the latest Ice Truck victim. Angel cannot find the right anniversary gift for his wife, who is currently separated from him. Also, the heat against Sgt. Doakes escalates when Guerrero's thugs begin tailing him.

9.50PM SUNDAY / JULY 6

When Miami blood splatter expert Dexter Morgan is not solving murders, he’s a serial killer committing them.

Orphaned at the age of four and harbouring a traumatic secret, Dexter is adopted by a police officer who recognises Dexter’s homicidal tendencies and guides his son to channel his gruesome passion for human vivisection in a constructive way – by killing those heinous perpetrators who are above the law or who have just slipped through the cracks of justice.

A respected member of the police force, a perfect gentleman and a man with a soft spot for children, it’s hard not to like Dexter. Although his drive to kill is unflinching, he struggles to emulate normal emotions he doesn’t feel and to keep up his appearance as a caring, socially responsible human being.
