This episode sees the return of character Sarah Jane Smith, who was a companion to the third and fourth Doctors, Jon Pertwee and Tom Baker, and was a regular in the Doctor Who series from 1973 to 1976.

Also stars Billie Piper as Rose Taylor and Freema Agyeman as Martha Jones.
