The Original, World’s Most Loved Cooking Show Is Back.
MasterChef Australia Returns on Sunday, June 2, at 7.30pm on TEN.

Network Ten is pleased to announce that series five of MasterChef Australia will premiere on Sunday, June 2, at 7.30pm.

Coming to you from its new home in Melbourne, Matt Preston has returned to his natural place beside fellow judges George Calombaris and Gary Mehigan as they put 22 of Australia’s best homes cooks through their paces in the kitchen.

The 2013 season will not only bring viewers the classic tastes of MasterChef Australia they know and love, but it will also bring some new dishes to the table. Themed weeks see our contestants go to boot camp in the Barossa, get in touch with their inner child in kids’ week and go red, white and green for Italian week – and that’s just the beginning.

We’re also joined by some fabulous guest chefs along the way: Antonio Carluccio, Stephanie Alexander, Curtis Stone, Shannon Bennett, Maggie Beer and Guillaume Brahimi, to name just a few.

MasterClass has also had a makeover: for the first time ever, a studio audience gets to experience first-hand the teaching skills of all three of our judges, George, Gary and, yes, Matt Preston behind the stove.

With all these ingredients, it’s a recipe that will take our contestants closer to achieving their food dreams and changing the course of their lives, as they compete to be the next Australian MasterChef. Let the cooking begin.

For a first look promo please click here

MasterChef Australia premieres on TEN on Sunday, June 2, at 7.30pm and continues Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at 7.30pm.

MasterChef Australia is a Shine Australia production for Network Ten.

Adam is annoyed that Ricky isn’t with Brax but she is trying to protect him and Adam is not happy. John tells Marilyn that Jett broke up with Nina, Marilyn offers to have a chat with Jett. April tells Casey that she can’t find Dex who has an hour to get to his meeting. April is annoyed that she is just acting like she was before they broke up, Casey tells her if she doesn’t know then how can he, a light goes off and April agrees that it is Dex’s battle and she can’t fight it for him, she goes off and Casey’s confused but is like good chat. Brax asks Ricky why she didn’t pick up when he called and he is worried about the assignments she does.

Tam explains to Kyle that Heath & Brax are still fighting. April tells Sid she stopped looking and thinks it’s his choice to make. Dex is skipping rocks in the water when Jett walks up and does the same. They discuss embarrassing dads. Ricky & Kyle exchange packages and Kyle agrees to put five grand in the account at a time. Dex tells Casey he thinks he doesn’t have a future right now. Casey tells him that he didn’t give up after the accident or for his break up with April and if he just sits there he doesn’t have a chance. Dex arrives just in time for his meeting.

Marilyn sits down with Jett at the pier. Jett says that Nina is shy and he didn’t have anything to talk about and thinks he isn’t meant to be happy. Marilyn tells him that all Gina wanted was to be happy. Jett can’t talk to John about this. Ricky is at the Braxtons putting money ina backpack when Brax arrives and they start making out. Brax answers Ricky’s phone but Adam doesn’t say anything. He hangs up after Brax tells him that Ricky is busy tonight. The board has given Dex a chance to prove himself. Marilyn tells John that Jett feels guilty about being happy. John knows how he feels. John doesn’t see how he will get through this as Marilyn gives him a hug and Alf watches from afar. Adam warns Ricky if they don’t do this right they all go down even her but Adam doesn’t want her there when this goes down and asks her to break up with Brax.

Ricky tells Brax it’s not working but he isn’t buying it and she tells him that he is too possessive. Ricky tells him she was faking it but she thinks that he will hate her for Adam. Brax tells her he never thought he’d get a second chance at being happy, then she came along. Alf tells Marilyn to start thinking about himself and he is concerned that Marilyn is helping out too much. Alf tells Roo that John would want anything to take the pain away. Jett guesses that Marilyn blabbed as John tells him to grab happiness when he can. Casey arrives asking Jett to go for the surfing lesson. Adam calls Ricky and warns her again to break up with her, she refuses to. Adam tells Ricky to not hold him responsible for what happens next.

John tells Marilyn & Roo that he thinks he made things worse, Roo thinks Jett should talk to someone who is a little more objective. Kyle is couting money from the envelope when Tam almost busts him at Angelo’s. Tam says she will talk to Brax and Kyle tells her that Brax has money issues and no one knows. Kyle begs Tam to keep quite.

Alf warns Roo to tread carefully when she talks to Marilyn. Casey tells John Jett has gone from enthutiastic to couldn’t care less in record time, John tells Casey its more then just girl troubles. Jett opens the cupboard with the package in it at Casey’s but doesn’t see it. Jett tells Casey that he promises Gina he still loves her everynight. Tam tells Ricky that she can’t stand being in the same room as Kyle. Tam explains to Ricky that she caught Kyle taking his own money into the takings and thinks it’s because he wants to be brother number one. Ricky tells Tam that Brax never sees wrong in his brothers and to wait for something more concrete. Ricky runs to Adam and tells him that Tam is starting to get suspicious, Adam is going to raise the curtain earlier (thank god, can this be over soon??).

Alf tells Roo that Marilyn just needs to be reminded of her history with John. Roo tells Marilyn they are worried that John could be overly attached and thinks she should share a responsibilty with the others. Marilyn tells her that John knows she is just a good friend. Ricky tells Kyle she intervened and stopped Tam from telling Brax. Kyle wants to tell him now but Ricky stops him too. Jett & Casey are playing videogames when a package is dropped at Casey’s door. It’s filled with money. The cops come racing down the street, Casey tells Jet to leave the house through the back door. Jett rushes into Angelo’s and tells Brax that the cops have Casey. The cops find the gun under the sink. Brax tries to convince the cops it is a set up and Tam says she lives there too are they going to arrest her? They put handcuffs on Casey…. that’s when my recording stops…….. grrr……… please let shows FINISH ON TIME!!!!!

Chris tells Indi to look into clinics for research for cancer patients and that she needs a private investigate. Dex is annoyed that the family is asking him about the meeting. Sid is concerned about Indi. Roo & Harvey tells Spencer that Maddy wants to talk and that maybe he shouldn’t have gone so far so soon. Harvey tells Spencer that they are sick of being caught in the middle. Spencer apologizes to Chris. Chris tells him that their mum is driving their dad nuts but that they would like to hear from Spencer. Sid tells Rosie that she has some time in deciding but she tells him that she thinks it was meant to be. Sid tells her she has her full support and suggests she talk to Nat about schooling and financial support. Sasha is concerned about Rosie’s crush on Spencer.

Indi tells Chris she can’t imagine surfing without Romeo. Chris is making sure that Indi can handle getting a PI to find Romeo, she says she doesn’t want to go through life wishing that she tried, Chris hands her over a phone number that his parents used to find him. Dex is worried about the meeting and doesn’t trust himself under pressure. April sets up a mock meeting. Dex is joking his way through but quits after the first real question. Spencer tells Maddy he hates things the way they are between them. Maddy tells him she didn’t think she would be replace so quickly. Spencer tells her that he is not with Rosie, Spencer tells her that Rosie is pregnant. Maddy apologizes. Spencer tells Maddy he doesn’t want her opinion and that she broke up with him. Maddy tells Roo that Rosie is pregnant and that Spencer is going to be the most loving friend in the world and is going to throw himself into it. Rosie tells Sasha that Spencer is amazing and Sasha tells her she is being too clingy, Rosie agrees to back off just as Spencer shows up at the farm.

Indi tells Dex & April she’s thinking of hiring a PI but he charges $80 hour plus expenses. Indi tells them it’s crazy and walks off but next minute she tells Chris she is going to use the PI. Chris realises he has never faced up to things even when they are hard and thinks he should man up and do something with his life. Chris tells Indi that his parents marriage really is on the rocks and he is leaving next bus out of town. Chris tells Indi that she changed him and she’s going to miss him (don’t think this is the last we see of Chris). Sasha asks Spencer what is he doing with Rosie, he tells her that he is helping out and Sasha tells him to tell that to Rosie. Roo, Harvey, Alf, Spencer and Maddy are saying goodbye to Chris. Chris tells Spencer to make himself happy.

Rosie tells Spencer she is happy to have Spencer as a non-boyfriend, boyfriend. Dex doesn’t want to go to the meeting.

Wilde is a well-known garden designer in the UK and won three prizes at the 2005 Chelsea Flower Show for her Cumbrian Fellside courtyard garden: a Gold Medal, a Best in Show in the Courtyard Garden category and the BBC Audience Choice Award.

She returned to Chelsea this week to file a special report for Better Homes and Gardens on the small Artisan and Fresh gardens.

“I was delighted to have been asked by Better Homes and Gardens to go to Chelsea with them, especially in this very special Centenary year. It was a real pleasure and honour to work with one of Australia’s national treasures, the legend that is Graham Ross.”

Wilde also got to meet the award-winning Australian team from Fleming’s Nurseries.

“I was thrilled that the Trailfinders Australian Garden won Best in Show. I had great fun meeting the Oz team who created the wonderful spectacle. Those boys work hard but they sure know how to play hard and I’m still disappointed with myself for not taking them up on their offer of lager for breakfast.”

One of Wilde’s highlights from her visit to Chelsea this year was the ‘What Will We Leave?’ NSPCC garden, a celebration of nostalgic childhood memories.

“It had a lovely fairy-tale quality, with a mix of wildflowers including Honesty, Bluebells, Buttercups and Ox-eye daisies. A collection of vintage toys decorated the rustic treehouse and a small pool at the front was decorated with hand painted pebbles by children. I was reminded of my own garden which has a similar treehouse and also wildflowers. It was my children who inspired me out into the garden in the first place, and they who inspired my book ‘Gardening with Children’.”

Catch Kim Wilde’s exclusive Chelsea report and see the award-winning Trailfinders Australian Garden on Better Homes and Gardens, 7pm Friday on Seven.

Adam Pollington, the marketing manager at Microsoft Australia, has said that the additional entertainment features for the new console won’t be immediately available.

While the current Xbox 306 has dedicated apps for the likes of ABC iView, SBS On Demand and Foxtel on Xbox, Pollington says these won’t immediately come across to the One.

“We’ve got nothing to announce around local app partners at this time. But you can be sure that we are working to deliver the best experience for Australians in terms of delivering on that next generation TV and entertainment services,” he told TechRadar.

“The goal is definitely to roll out those services to all markets where Xbox One is launching. We’re obviously working in each independent market to ensure that we can account the services across different TV systems, because obviously TV was a piece that was showcased quite heavily this morning.

“But we are looking to cater for the way in which TV is delivered in each market, so whether that’s over the air, whether that’s through the internet, or whether that’s through a Pay TV or a cable set top box, we are ensuring that we can allow for those different services within each market.”

Foxtel offered the following statement on the new Xbox console: “Foxtel is thrilled to have brought the experience of Foxtel on Xbox 360 to our Australian customers who have found it to be a fantastic way to enjoy our great content. We’re watching Microsoft’s latest announcement with keen interest and will keep you posted on any developments as they happen.

Shine Australia has jumped on board to bring the format to local screens with the help of Foxtel’s LifeStyle YOU.

Embarrassing Bodies Down Under is the latest in a number of local versions that have been adapted around the world.

“I’m very much looking forward to once more pulling on the rubber gloves and having a good delve down under!” said Dr Christian Jessen, co-host of the original U.K. show.

“Australia is the perfect location for this new series and I can’t wait to bring Embarrassing Bodies and its unique way of spreading important health messages to the Aussies in their own version!”

Hannah Barnes, Foxtel’s head of programming and commissions for LifeStyle Channels, said: “Embarrassing Bodies is one of LifeStyle YOU’s most successful properties, so it is a huge win for Foxtel not only to have secured the rights to a local version, but also to have Dr Christian involved in this new production. Embarrassing Bodies is a groundbreaking lifestyle format that has become a global hit. The franchise continues to grow here in Australia in terms of ratings, which shows that Aussies are more than ready for a local version.”

Mark Fennessy, the CEO of Shine Australia, said: “Embarrassing Bodies has become a health and lifestyle phenomenon in the U.K. Together with the fabulous Dr Christian and a talented team of local doctors we look forward to making it appointment to view television for the Australian audience.”
