No third season for Flight of the Conchords

December 11th, 2009

In a statement released on their official site, Bret & Jermaine have announced that there will not be a third season of Flight of the Conchords.

We’ve noticed the less we say about the future of the show, the more people want to talk about it, so in an effort to reverse this trend we are today announcing that we won’t be returning for a 3rd season.

We’re very proud of the two seasons we made and we like the way the show ended. We’d like to thank everyone who helped make the show and also everyone who watched it.

The duo have assured fans that Flight of the Conchords are still together.

While the characters Bret and Jemaine will no longer be around, the real Bret and Jemaine will continue to exist.

Sally (FTA Pilot) - Season 1, Episode 1

April 23rd, 2008

10.10PM SUNDAY / MAY 11

Flight of the Conchords is an original new comedy series from HBO which follows the trials and tribulations of a witless two man, folk music duo from New Zealand [also named Flight of the Conchords], who hope to break into the music industry in their recently adopted home of New York City.

The real life duo, Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement, both play naive fictionalised versions of themselves. During their quest for music success, they attend bohemian parties, acquire an obsessed fan, hurt each others feelings and pursue relationships with elusive women. As we see, the duo’s innocent, misguided efforts to find romance or land a gig rarely yield dividends, but they do often spawn out-burSts of song, which appear as subtle parodies of pop music videos ranging from 80’s pop to rap and swing.
