If you have ever dreamt of a trip to romantic Italy don’t miss this week’s Getaway special – Italy 4Every1, at 7.30pm Thursday on Nine.

The Getaway team have travelled this European delight north to south, east to west, covering holidays for all ages and wallets in a holiday special that sings the endless praises of Italy.

Italy 4Every1 is broken down into three holiday itineraries: the best in budget breaks, family destinations and all the out-and-out, five-star luxury Italy has to offer. The travel special takes in places to stay, things to see, getting around Italy, as well as the amazing cuisine the Italians are famous for.

The program begins in Rome, Italy’s largest city, a capital that offers an intoxicating feast for the senses. Jules Lund brings viewers Rome on a budget, retracing his steps as a teenage backpacker there. Catriona Rowntree experiences this grand city from a family’s point of view – everything from cheap and easy accommodation to the Gladiator school for children at the famous Colosseum.

After Jules and Catriona, poor Natalie Gruzlewski really picked the short straw by being treated to all the luxury Rome has to offer – staying in decadent villas packed with artwork and antiques and eating at exquisite restaurants.

Meanwhile Dermott Brereton travels away from the Italian mainland to Sicily, the largest and most heavily populated island in the Mediterranean. He finds magnificent Sicily is full of attractions that are hard to refuse including landmarks for movie fans of the Godfather trilogy. Dermott succumbs to the wonderful food Sicily has to offer as he eats his way around it.

If your Italian dream includes gondolas in Venice, luxury shopping in Florence, cruising the Amalfi Coast and eating pizza in Naples, catch Getaway’s Italy 4Every1 and enjoy a delicious indulgence of the senses.
