Former Australian soccer player Georgie Leake and NRL player Nathan Wood return to the arena this week, one step closer to the main prize as they compete in the second quarter final of GLADIATORS.

Queenslander Georgie enjoyed success on Hit and Run during her heat to score two points, managed to scamper away from Angel on The Wall for 10 points and out Sumo’d Amazon to gain 10 points, which resulted in Amazon receiving a red card from referee Bill Harrigan. How will she fare up against Amazon again this week on Suspension Bridge?

Her challenger, 21-year-old Victorian gymnast Ashleigh Kelly, made it through to the quarters by default when her rival was unable to run the Eliminator. Will she be disadvantaged having not run the final game before?

Ashleigh proved her abilities in the heats by evading Olympia on Pendulum for 10 points, won 10 points on Hang Tough and scored two points in Powerball. But will the points bonanza continue this week when she’s playing all new games in Atlasphere, Vertigo, Suspension Bridge and Pyramid?

Nathan wasn’t exactly a points powerhouse in the heats, scoring just four points on Hit and Run. Despite going into the Eliminator with a five second disadvantage, he proved he’s quick and scurried away for the win.

In contrast, Queensland school teacher Philip Breslin was a points-scoring machine. He evaded Hunter on Pendulm for 10 points, then backed it up with a sizzling run through the Gauntlet for another 10 points, managed to Hang Tough long enough to collect five points and scored two points in Powerball.

The winners will proceed to the semi finals, with the two overall winners of the series (one male and one female) sharing in $100,000 and two All Wheel Drive Subaru Foresters.

GLADIATORS is hosted by TOM WILLIAMS and ZOE NAYLOR with referee BILL HARRIGAN.
