For the first time in its nearly 3 week history, 7TWO has beaten GO in the ratings.
7TWO last night scored 2.6% of the channel shares while GO only managed 2.2%. 7TWO’s two top shows were Fifth Gear with 106,000 which was followed by Stargate Atlantis double episode with 126,000. GO’s line up was mostly driven by Seinfeld and Frasier.
Shares for 7TWO have been coming close to the regular 2% level that GO has been enjoying for nearly two months now. The two channels have come very close to each other before, but this is the first time that 7TWO has rated higher than GO overall.
Maybe time for Nine and GO to cross promote - or better yet - time for GO to stop making so many programming changes. Both GO and 7TWO have made multiple programming changes for next week - the last week of the 2009 ratings period in the hope to capture some last minute extra viewers and shares.
Channel Shares for the night (Nov 19): were:
1 9 29.1%. 2 7 25.1%. 3 10 19.3%. 4 ABC1 14.3%. 5 SBS ONE 4.0%
6 7TWO 2.6%. 7 GO 2.2%. 8 ABC2 1.6%. 9 ONE 1.3%. 10 SBS TWO 0.5%

It's only one night, and by 0.4 per cent, and we're talking 2.2 versus 2.6, hardly big numbers... I don't think Nine/GO should be losing any sleep just yet, and neither should Seven/7TWO be cracking open any champagne bottles. Besides, GO got 5 per cent share only a few nights ago.
