Today’s challenge is who can make the best dish with a bowl of the same leftovers. They are judged on creativity, taste and presentation.

Gordon rejects Michael’s dish for having dangerous chicken bones in it. Ralph’s dish has the best presentation and tastes good but he only utilized a third of the ingredients. Jess’ beef stew isn’t much to look at but tastes delicious. But Gordon’s favourite is Elsie’s chicken soup. The colour looks like sewage, but it tastes great and utilized many of the ingredients. Gordon says he would pay for that dish.

The losers of the challenge are fuming. Ralph is furious and flings his dishes into the sick. Jess feels she had the best dish and was robbed. After kitchen prep, they all go for an evening run with Gordon to get in some personal time with him.

The next morning, Elsie wakes up early and is whisked away to her mysterious rewad. The rest spend the morning prepping in the kitchen. In the afternoon, the contestants are called into the bar to watch TV. They don’t know that they’ll be watching when suddenly, Gordon and Elsie appear on the screen on a cooking segment of the TV show, Good Day Live! Michael, Jess and Ralph watch with amusement and jealousy.

When Elsie and Gordon return from their appearance, Elsie gets the cold shoulder from the rest. As an additional reward, Elsie gets to choose the kitchen assignments for tonight’s service.

Elsie assigns Jess to starters, Michael to veggies, Ralph to meat and herself to fish. What the contestants don’t know is that the stations will keep switching throughout the evening. Tonight’s goal is to serve the entire restaurant for the first time. Micahel and Ralph take control of the kitchen, while Jess and Elsie struggle. Elsie breaks down and cries, unable to cope with the pressure. At the end of the night, ten tickets remain unserved.

Gordon is disappointed with everyone’s performance and doesn’t think anyone deserves to nominate. He will just choose someone to eliminate. Gordon ruminates for some time and finally comes to the difficult decision to eliminate one of his favourites, Elsie. In a tearful goodbye, Gordon tells Elsie she’s come a long way and she has touched his heart. Only three remain. Gordon tells the remaining contestants to “come back as a team, get it right and prove why you’re here.”
