9.30pm wednesday / JULY 30

A young boy, Ian, is admitted to Princeton Plainsboro suffering from bloody diarrhoea. It's poker night at the hospital and although the case is initially referred to Cuddy, House becomes concerned and curious when he hears some of the symptoms. He enlists Wilson to distract Cuddy while he takes over on the case. House usually does anything he can to avoid a case, so why is he so interested in this one?

House reveals to his team that he had a patient called Esther, 12 years ago, who displayed the same symptoms as Ian. So what do 70 year old Esther and 6 year old Ian have in common?

Ian continues to experience the same debilitating factors that Esther did, which led to her death. Although House can predict the next stage of Ian's medical progress, he can't prevent it. Can House and his team save this child from the same fate as Esther?
