On tonight’s episode of HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER, after breaking the “Bro Code,” a guilt-ridden Barney must deal with the lasting repercussions; Lily saves an animal from slaughter; and Ted prepares for a milestone birthday.

As Ted gets ready to celebrate his thirtieth birthday, Barney and Robin wake up in bed together. Both agree to act is though it never happened. In the bar Ted sees Robin and Barney whispering conspiratorially, and assumes they’re planning him a surprise party.

Barney tells Marshall about his night with Robin and hires Marshall to find a loophole in the “Bro Code” (a code Barney himself wrote to outline conduct among male friends), so he can stop feeling so guilty.
