Cary Elwes (Factory Girl, Saw, Liar

Liar and Twister) guest stars in this
gripping episode.
Mob lawyer Sidney Truex (guest star
Cary Elwes) and his son, Tommy walk
home after leaving a sleepover party.
When they arrive at the house, Sidney
is attacked and his wife is found dead.
Tommy runs for his life, and his sister
16 year-old Charlotte is missing.
The father comes out of surgery and is
able to vividly remember his daughter,
Charlotte in the house and the investigation
quickly turns to her.
The detectives quickly assume that the case is closed and she's held for murder when it's revealed that
she was on drugs that made her violent. That is, until evidence shows that a man was also in the house that night. Tommy picks Ryan out of a line-up as, “the monster that hit his father."

This is where the storyline takes a 180 degree turn. When Elliot and Olivia go to arrest him, Ryan runs and tries to scale a fence. Elliot struggles to cuff him and once Ryan is on the ground, he stops breathing and dies.

As a result, Elliot is suspended and he is forced to prove that he didn’t use unjustified force that resulted in Ryan’s death. The coroner finds Ryan's spleen was ruptured, which could only occur from blunt force trauma, but Elliot maintains he only used enough force to subdue him.

Meanwhile, back to the opening case, Charlotte is given truth serum and interviewed about that night at the house. She reveals that Ryan followed her home after a "pharm" party (a party where prescription drugs are exchanged) and a fight had broken out between the pair and Charlotte’s mother. Charlotte then blacked out, but woke to witness Ryan attack her mother, and then her father.

How will Elliot clear his name?
