Jennifer Beals is set to guest-star on LIE TO ME as Zoe Landau, Lightman’s (Tim Roth) ex-wife and Emily’s (Hayley McFarland) mother.
When Landau, an Assistant U.S. Attorney, hires The Lightman Group to assist with an arson case, it quickly becomes clear that she and Lightman still have feelings for each other.
Thursday, January 21 8.30pm
When three men are trapped underground after a building under construction explodes, the Lightman Group are called in to question the other workers about how the explosion occurred and if it was an accident or not.
After questioning all workers, the Lightman group find the location of the trapped men in the rubble, and begin talking to them via a camera. It’s not long before Lightman realizes one of the them is frightened of being rescued. He suspects the man (Blunt) may be frightened of being found to be the cause of the blast.
Tuesday, January 19 9.30pm
When his daughter starts giving Lightman lovelife advice, he’s almost relieved to stumble on a traffic jam caused by a suicide.
A woman has jumped from the bridge and the police and US Attorney’s office are all over it... and preventing Lightman from getting involved.
But he won’t stay deterred for long, suicides are one of Lightman’s old specialities.

Ria and Cal question a former gang leader who claims to be rehabilitated. If the gang leader is freed, he might help fight inner-city violence or return to his life of crime.
Meanwhile, Eli and Gillian look into the death of a firefighter who was killed in the line of duty.

A controversial South Korean ambassador is presumed to be an assassination target at his son's state wedding. The Lightman team is sent to prevent the murder.
Yet the son is shot instead and Lightman exposes long-held family secrets and lies in order to identify the killer - the jealous ex-husband of the son's wife who was using the potential threat at the lavish affair as a cover.

The murder of a teenage girl, who is the daughter of a powerful federal judge, leads The Lightman Group to a highly competitive college-prep school where getting to the head of the class means everything.
The team also investigates a NASA test pilot accused of intentionally crashing a $250 million aircraft.

When a female soldier accuses her commanding officer of sexual assault, Lightman is brought to Fort Meade to find out if there's any truth to the accusation. The woman is found to be covering for someone else. Lightman tricks the officer into admitting that he coerced sex with a cadet by threatening to give her the most dangerous assignment.
Meanwhile, Foster investigates whether a high-profile basketball recruit accepted bribes to play for a university.
Tuesday November 24 9.30pm
Magician/performer Ricky Jay and Abby Brammell from “The Unit” guest star.
Lightman (Tim Roth), Foster (Kelli Williams) and Reynolds (Mekhi Phifer) go to Las Vegas to help locate a missing finalist in the World Series of Poker. Lightman uses his skills to reach beyond the other finalists’ poker faces to figure out which one knows about the disappearance.
Meanwhile, Loker (Brendan Hines) and Torres (Monica Raymund) analyse Loker’s new relationship and as a result get closer to each other.

His work gives him the knowledge and skill set to expertly deceive others as well as detect lies. But as Lightman well knows, his scientific ability is both a blessing and a curse in his personal life, where family and friends deceive each other as readily as criminals and strangers do.
