MEDICAL EMERGENCY
Series 3, Episode 8
Tuesday September 4
8:00pm (PG)
This week on MEDICAL EMERGENCY, Kerang train crash patient Vicki undergoes surgery to her shattered face while a 42-year-old male arrives at The Alfred with severe chemical burns across his face and body.
Last week, 49-year-old Kerang train crash victim Vicki was rushed to The Alfred at risk of brain damage. Now, Vicki undergoes a gruelling four hour facial reconstruction while her husband and two daughters wait anxiously.
Downstairs in Emergency, 36-year-old Patrick has shot a 3-inch nail through his boot into his foot. If the nail has gone straight through the bone, he may require surgery.
Craig, a 42-year-old chemical worker, has been rushed to The Alfred with chemical burns across 40% of his face, eyes and body following a workplace accident. If the burns to his airways continue to swell, they will prevent him from breathing.
Paramedics are called to the home of Western Melbourne resident Warren, whose severe back pain and spasms indicate he may have some form of nerve damage.
And across town at Sandringham Hospital, four-year-old Sebastian needs to get a magnifying glass removed from his finger.
MEDICAL EMERGENCY is narrated by Chris Gabardi.
