An air ambulance paramedic rescues his boss while Beijing Olympic hopeful Christian undergoes intensive heart surgery.

Paramedic Pete, part of the helicopter division of the Victorian Air Service, is called to the aid of his boss, Greg, who may have broken his ribs after being hit by a car.

Young athlete Christian has been brought in to the Alfred with a failing heart and is immediately taken into surgery. In order to find the problem section, Christian has electrodes inserted through his groin and into his heart to probe the area – and Christian must be awake through the entire procedure.
