A fifth series of Channel Seven’s MEDICAL EMERGENCY is now in pre-production, with filming to commence in late September.
Series Producer of MEDICAL EMERGENCY Maxine Gray is thrilled about the opportunity to continue to showcase the incredible true stories as seen each week on the series.
"We're very excited to be embarking on our fifth series of Medical Emergency. It's a great feeling to be able to present a show that combines extraordinary medical achievements, heroic acts and simple gestures of compassion and kindness. It's a show about human beings helping other human beings. It's uplifting and it's real.
"The medical staff at The Alfred Hospital in Melbourne and Ambulance Victoria air and road paramedics are literally heroes to our patients - and they're our heroes as well. It's an absolute privilege to showcase their work for our audience," says Maxine.
Executive Director of Acute Operations at The Alfred Andrew Stripp is also pleased to be participating in another series of MEDICAL EMERGENCY.
"The trust that The Alfred has developed with Channel Seven has been groundbreaking and we think it is the secret of the show’s success. We’re thrilled that Medical Emergency is enjoyed by so many people and most grateful to those generous patients and families who allow us to share some of their most stressful moments.
“We believe that by opening our doors, we demonstrate that behind every statistic there is a person with a family and that taking steps to prevent illness and injury is worthwhile."
A Channel Seven production team will spend the next seven months working closely with staff to ensure that patient care and privacy remain the highest priority throughout the duration of this project.

Hi, i have watched this show for a while now my wife and i love it we get to see behind the scenes of what goes on with all the marvelous people who do the job of saving lives everyday.
up until a week ago i never realised how many people and how well these people work together at the scene of an accident, i had about 30 people turn up to my accident when i rolled a semi down an emankment in dixons creek.
i also never believed that i might one day be on this show when i came to in the truck and saw all the medical crews pulling together to get me out it was amazing everyone should take note of what these people do.
they are honestly our unsung heros.
