This week on Medical Emergency, an elderly woman suffers head injuries after being struck by a bus, a semi-trailer crash could result in the loss of a leg and a motorcycling accident may signal the end of a career.

80-year old Kim is treated for suspected head injury after being hit by a bus. The situation is made more difficult as Kim does not speak English and paramedics need to communicate to evaluate the extent of her head injury. As they load her into the ambulance, Kim’s condition suddenly starts to deteriorate.

In last week’s episode, Italian motorbike racer Vittorio’s wrist and hand were shattered in an accident and surgery was required to repair the damage. Minutes into the operation, surgeons make an unhappy discovery.

Three-year-old Finn has fallen off a couch and his father fears he has broken something.

A 40-year-old truck driver has crashed his semi trailer. In addition to his injuries, Darren is diabetic and waiting for a kidney operation which will cause complications for his recovery. Doctors are concerned he may lose his leg.
