27 yr old Jamie has been missing for nearly two years. Mick Chubb and Garry Bailey head to Yass to follow up a few leads and sightings. They canvas pubs, talk to people from a local fair and attend the local newspapers. A few people say they have seen Jamie but the officers don’t find him. After nearly 2 years of searching Jamie’s father, Steve and his wife Deb have flown out from England to continue searching for Jamie themselves. They attend Daly Waters, the place where Jamie was last seen and speak to owners of the truck stop there.

Jacinta Coyte (NSW – Found)
15 year old schoolgirl, Jacinta Coyte went to school one morning and never returned that afternoon. When her mother speaks to MPU she has been missing for three days. It’s believed she could be with a couple of boys – one of them is claimed to be her boyfriend but no-one knows him or how old he is. When police interview Jacinta’s mother they find that she has been on an internet site called Bebo (similar to face book) stating in her profile that she is 21 not 15. There are fears the boys/men she’s reported to be with may be older and possibly holding Jacinta against her will. After five days she returned of her own will. This story starts in episode six and carries over into episode 7.

John Power: NSW (Found)
84 year old war veteran John Power went missing from home in the Sydney suburb of Dundas. He was reported missing by his neighbours who had not seen him for five days and were worried. Police canvassed all the neighbours but they had no fresh leads.
Knowing that the Irish immigrant liked a flutter and was a regular at the Vikings Club, Police paid the club a visit. Unfortunately there was no new information to lead them to the missing man.
Then unexpectedly Police received news that John was in St Vincents Hospital. He had checked himself in with an irritating skin condition and did not realise he was missing. Police sighted John who has since returned home in good health.

Leslie Hicks: NSW (Still Missing)
81 year old war veteran, Leslie Hicks, disappeared from his Wollongong nursing home on Sunday, 23 March, 2008. Leslie has early onset dementia, serious eyesight problems and wears a colostomy bag. Les was seen by a fellow patron from his local RSL outside a nearby scout hall. The men waved to each other. There was nothing to indicate Les was missing except he was covered in grass. Police mounted full scale searches of the area but to no avail. There has still been no sign of Les. Police believe he has probably perished.

Jan Mrozik: NSW (Found)
79-year-old Polish immigrant, Jan Mrozik, lived with his estranged wife Anna and was a regular on the bridge circuit. He had had a heart bypass and was on medication for his heart. When Jan (known as John) went missing, Anna was beside herself. She feared that something terrible had happened to him. Police from the Missing Persons Unit canvassed the Polish Club where Jan played bridge and phoned hospitals to see if he had been admitted. It turned out that Jan had taken a holiday to Melbourne but had not told Anna. When he returned home he was healthy and unharmed. Police told him how important it is to always phone home.

Missing Persons Unit, the real-life drama of Australia’s MPU police teams and the people desperate to find their loved ones, returns to the Nine Network for a fourth series on Wednesday, May 28 at 9.30pm, presented by Mike Munro.
The compelling audience favourite begins with a busy week at the Missing Persons Unit in Sydney, where Constable Adam Marsh fears for the safety of Jessica, 16, who he thinks has fallen under the spell of an older man.
Then it’s a race against time in Sydney’s west to find missing dementia sufferer Wilfred Simons. The desperate search is assisted by MPU officers Mandy and Steve, SES volunteers, a police helicopter, push bike police and even Tango the bloodhound.
Senior Constable Mark Gillard tries to find missing 22-year-old dad David Randolph, who said he was going fishing but vanished, leaving his fiancée and two toddlers feeling desperate and abandoned.

Missing Persons Unit, the real-life drama of Australia’s MPU police divisions and the distraught families who are desperate for the return of their loved ones, returns for a third series to Channel Nine on Thursday, October 11 at 8.30pm, presented by Mike Munro.
Since the debut of Missing Persons Unit in 2006 and the second series in February 2007, 36 cases featured in the program have been solved.
The third series begins with the ongoing case of 13-year-old Queensland schoolboy Daniel Morecombe, who has been missing since 2003. His heartbreaking story has touched the nation’s heart and sparked the biggest police hunt in Queensland’s history, resulting in 16,000 leads. Daniel’s family have dedicated their lives to finding him, and now their search has the support of a very special celebrity.
In NSW, sailor Ron Anderson is reported missing en route to Queensland. A search of his abandoned yacht and local clubs goes nowhere until police get a mysterious call about a body floating off a beach.
