John Power: NSW (Found)
Knowing that the Irish immigrant liked a flutter and was a regular at the Vikings Club, Police paid the club a visit. Unfortunately there was no new information to lead them to the missing man.
Then unexpectedly Police received news that John was in St Vincents Hospital. He had checked himself in with an irritating skin condition and did not realise he was missing. Police sighted John who has since returned home in good health.
Neil Maher: QLD (Still Missing)
55 year old pharmacist-turned-beekeeper, Neil Maher, left Queensland in October 2007 to work on a bee farm at Morgan in the South Australian riverland. His girlfriend Roanne had no idea he wouldn’t return.
Neil’s parents last saw him two months earlier, in August, and became terribly worried as the months went by with no word. Even though Neil didn’t keep in regular contact, he knew that his 88 year old father was ill.
The police investigation revealed that Neil had had a fight with the owner of the bee farm, travelled to Mildura, then returned to collect his things. What happened to him after that is a mystery.
D/S/Sgt Jim Ryan found out that Neil could turn his hand to anything and might be working on another farm somewhere for cash in hand. He found out that Neil had had financial worries and had also been depressed. Jim also learnt – from federal MP Bob Katter - that Neil was politically active and community minded. Jim is hoping the MPU story will flush Neil out.
Winnie McGill: NSW (Found)
Winnie McGill is a 13 year old African refugee who was living in Australia with her younger sister and grandmother. Winnie’s story is tragic. Seven years ago the family was torn apart after civil war erupted in Liberia. As the family fled incoming troops, Winnie, her dad, sister and grandmother, were separated from Winnie’s mother. The family thought the mother had died, and they came to Australia as refugees. Winnie’s dad remarried and she and her sister stayed with their grandmother who continued to raise them. Two years after fleeing their country, the family received news that the mother had survived and was alive and living in Canada. Five more years passed and the mother finally had enough money to come to Australia and see her daughters after not seeing them for seven years. Just days before she flew in, Winnie disappeared, taking all her possessions with her. Police speak to the grandmother who tells them Winnie had been rebellious lately, and after some further digging they discover that she probably took off because she feared she would be made to go to live in Canada. She’d already been uprooted once in her life, and now settled in Australia with her friends etc, she did not want to start over again.
Initially police thought she went to Queensland with another African man who was aged 26, but finally after about a week, and when her mum had arrived here, they discover that she had flown to Perth. Police finally get to speak to Winnie and convince her to come home. Police pick her up at the airport, and take her home, where her relieved mum is waiting. After seven long years the family is together again
Ross Hipwell: NSW (Found)
When 52 year old surfie Ross Hipwell disappeared with his surfboard in his combi camper, his pregnant daughter Rea feared the worst because Ross suffered from deep vein thrombosis. Senior Constable Garry Bailey from the NSW MPU initially thought Ross had taken time out from his family, or had come to grief on his surfboard.
Police soon discovered however, that Ross’s bank account had been used at Harrington on the New South Wales north coast.
They soon found Ross’s combi at a caravan park at Harrington and Ross was not far away. He had been keeping company with a ladyfriend and regretted the trouble he’d caused.

In the episode it said that Neil Maher was a "happy father of five"
if that was true, why not contact all the children?
or at least notify the mother of the children?
In the program it also said that "Neil maher was back living happily with his family"
this fact checker is obviously quite good.
basically, MPU is the biggest load of rubbish i have ever watched.
cheers.
