In an age of salacious, youth-oriented media, ENOUGH ROPE is heading in the opposite direction and seeking the stories of our elders.
This six-part series will explore six very different lives in search of that almost-out-of-fashion idea: wisdom.
The series features acclaimed broadcaster and naturalist Sir David Attenborough; philanthropist Dame Elisabeth Murdoch; Helen Thomas (White House Bureau Chief for 57 years); Australia's most decorated living war hero and Victoria Cross winner, Keith Payne; former journalist and best-selling author, Isabel Allende; and former Australian Prime Minister Bob Hawke.
Tonight Andrew talks to broadcaster Sir David Attenborough. Sir David has been getting up close and personal with the environment for 50 years. A pioneer of nature documentaries, he has spent most of his life travelling the globe, witnessing rarely filmed encounters and bringing the wide world of nature into the comfort of our homes.
He has seen the best and the worst that the world has to offer, and at 82 has become deeply concerned for the future of the planet.
