Season Five of NCIS presents viewers with a recap from last season. The depth of Tony and Jeanne’s relationship is revealed along with the fact that La Grenouille (Jeanne’s father) has been spying on them.Tony and Jenny discuss their involvement in a top-secret operation involving La Gre-nouille and Gibbs learns that NCIS is being investigated because of Jenny’s personal vendetta. While Jeanne is becoming increasingly suspicious of Tony’s “day job”, McGhee discovers a secret CIA operation called “Lodestone” that involved La Grenouille and Colonel Shepherd, who committed suicide 12 years ago. However, Jenny has heard from an old friend that her father is really alive. She discovers a bottle of Scotch and a tumbler in her study then brings it to NCIS for Abby to check the prints. Jeanne surprises Tony with an introduction to her father, who happens to be La Grenouille, and he greets Tony by call-ing him Professor DiNardo. And this is when the plot thickens.It is clear that Tony’s cover has been blown and that Le Grenouille knows exactly who he is and who he is working for. While Gibbs reveals to Jenny that the CIA is after her, Tony goes missing and the team frantically try to locate him. When they finally track him down via satellite they watch in horror as his car explodes.In a heartbreaking episode the team are forced to examine the scene of the explosion and identify Tony’s body.The height, weight and general build of the body, along with Tony’s personal affects including his ID and shield sug-gest that he has died. Abby refuses to believe Tony is dead until Ducky proves it’s his body. Has NCIS lost one of its favourite agents or is this the start of something much bigger?
