9.30PM WEDNESDAY / JULY 9
Two members of a supposed charity aid fund, Pakistani International Fund (PIF), are abducted, tortured and murdered. The FBI believe that the PIF is a cover for an extremist cell with terrorist inclinations and based on these conclusions, begin an in-depth investigation in to the fund, in order to attempt to track down the kidnappers and the ultimate motive of the PIF.
Charlie becomes embroiled in the case when Phil Sanjrani, one of his biologist colleagues, is arrested for being a member of the PIF and potentially providing information of a terrorist nature to foreign extremists. Charlie’s methods of logic and deduction clear Phil from any involvement in terrorist activity and the murders, but Don and his FBI team disagree and soon Charlie is at loggerheads with them in order to prove Phil’s innocence.
The situation becomes more fragile when Don’s team believe that the people behind the murders plan a terrorist attack with rocket launchers at a high school, and therefore implicate Phil in the matter. It is a race against time for the FBI to prevent a potentially horrific crime and for Charlie to prove Phil has nothing to do with terrorism.
In a shocking end to the episode, Charlie commits a national crime that not only causes him to lose his security clearance with the FBI, but it also places his job at the college in jeopardy. Has Charlie gone too far this time?
