Next week (December 12-14), Ten is airing double episodes of The Glades on Monday night, NCIS: LA on Tuesday night and Hawaii Five-O on Wednesday night.

The 9.30 replays of Offspring move to 11.30pm, pushing Letterman back to 12.30am. Go Girls remains at 10.30pm on these nights.

FOX SPORTS will pay tribute to rugby league icon Arthur Beetson with a 30-minute special presentation ‘In His Own Words’ at 7pm AEDT tonight (Friday).

On the day the pioneering prop is laid to rest in Redcliffe, FOX SPORTS will air an exclusive interview with the larger-than-life Queensland legend as he reflects on his own career from his humble beginnings in Roma to becoming the first indigenous athlete to captain his country in the international sporting arena.

In the 2008 interview with Graham McNeice, ‘Artie’ provides a typically candid insight into his life and career, sharing his story with the down-to-earth persona that made him one of the code’s most admired and revered figures.

M*A*S*H’s Col. Sherman T. Potter, Harry Morgan, died on Wednesday morning.

The actor, who was 96, appeared in more than 100 movies, among them High Noon, Inherit the Wind and How the West Was Won. He also appeared frequently on television, popping up on everything from Gunsmoke to The Simpsons, and playing Officer Bill Gannon in the late-’60s Dragnet update.

But it is M*A*S*H for which he is sure to be most widely — and fondly — remembered. After a showy guest performance on the series, he was brought back to create the new role of Col. Potter — a replacement for the departing McLean Stevenson’s commanding officer, Henry Blake.

“I think it’s the best part I ever had,” the Emmy winner once said. In fact, it was such a good part that not only did he stick with it until M*A*S*H ended its run, he continued it on the short-lived spinoff After M*A*S*H.

The quest to unearth Australia’s next sporting hero is about to begin, with FOXTEL announcing the 15 finalists who will appear in CRICKET SUPERSTAR when it launches on Wednesday, January 4 at 7.30pm exclusively on FOX8.

Hosted by Lee Furlong, CRICKET SUPERSTAR is a competitive new sports-reality series following a group of promising young cricketers as they battle it out in a series of gruelling challenges for the chance of a lifetime.

After a nationwide audition tour earlier this year, followed by an intensive selection weekend at Cricket Australia’s Centre of Excellence, 15 young players were selected to take part in the show.

They are: Justin Avendano (18), Josh Clarke (18), Richard Potter (18) and Jake Scicluna (17) from New South Wales; Sam Brandon (20) and Jackson Smith (19) from Queensland; Chris Chellew (21), Jake Fawcett (21) and David Vernon (21) from Western Australia; Mason Crozier (20) and Ian Holland (21) from Victoria; Alex Frick (19), James Moss (22) and Cameron Williams (20) from South Australia; and Ben Cooper (19) from Tasmania.

Over the course of filming, these young sportsmen live together in a state-of-the-art mansion in Brisbane while competing in a series of carefully devised cricket challenges designed to show off their skills.

There is also a weekly non-cricket challenge that takes the boys out of their comfort zone in order to reveal their all important characteristics, from skydiving to catwalk modelling, rally driving and even Bollywood dancing.

Judging the boys at every step is cricketing great Allan Border.  As chief judge, Border has the final say on who stays and who goes.  Also on board is former Australian test cricketer Graham Manou, who is responsible for mentoring the boys on their journey from backyard cricket ace to CRICKET SUPERSTAR.  Along the way, cricket legends past and present drop in to their training sessions to give invaluable advice.

The winner of CRICKET SUPERSTAR will earn a rookie contract for the 2012-13 season, as well as a four month scholarship at Cricket Australia’s Centre of Excellence in Brisbane.

CRICKET SUPERSTAR is a collaboration between North One Television Australia, FOX8 and Cricket Australia.  The series is an offshoot of the popular Football Superstar franchise (also produced by North One TV), which ran for three successful seasons on FOX8.

CRICKET SUPERSTAR was filmed in and around Brisbane.  The 10-part series will air exclusively on FOX8 from Wednesday, January 4 at 7.30pm.

Kim Dalton, Director of ABC TV today announced the resignation of ABC TV’s Head of Arts and Entertainment, Amanda Duthie, who will take up the position of CEO and Director of the Adelaide Film Festival in the new year.

Amanda will leave ABC TV at the end of January after eight years with the network, and begin her new position in February.

Kim Dalton said “I would like to congratulate Amanda on her new appointment to one of the most enterprising film festivals in the country. I also want to recognise her many successes during her eight years at the ABC, and in particular, the last four years as ABC TV’s Head of Arts and Entertainment.”

Recent entertainment programs under her stewardship include Spicks & Specks, Gruen Transfer and Gruen Planet, Judith Lucy’s Spiritual Journey, Adam Hills in Gordon Street Tonight, and The Chaser’s The Hamster Wheel.

Her arts programming includes Artscape, At the Movies, First Tuesday Book Club, an on-going series of ABC Live concerts, The Bazura Project, and blue ribbon documentaries such as Mrs. Carey’s Concert. She has developed programs such as the landmark Indigenous series Art & Soul, constructed a major arts on-line gateway, and worked closely with the Australia Council for the Arts and regional arts bodies.

“Amanda leaves ABC TV with an exciting slate in both arts and entertainment programming for 2012 with programs such as Shaun Micallef”s Mad as Hell, Randling with Andrew Denton, Myf Warhurst’s Nice, Photo Finish and Kitchen Cabinet with Annabel Crabb,” said Kim Dalton.

BBC Worldwide, the BBC’s commercial arm, has announced that the global BBC iPlayer App will be available on iPhone and iPod Touch[1] from 8th December, exclusively from the App Store www.bbc.com/iplayer/tv.

Previously exclusive to iPad, this unique Video on Demand pilot subscription service will now offer many more viewers in Australia – as well as Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, The Republic of Ireland, The Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland – the opportunity to delve into an extensive archive of award-winning classic and contemporary British TV programming both at home and on the move. Those who already have a BBC iPlayer subscription on their iPad can use the same subscription to access the content via iPhone or iPod Touch at no extra charge[2].

John Smith, Chief Executive of BBC Worldwide commented: “The global BBC iPlayer has seen great growth since the pilot first launched in Europe in July – both in terms of geographical expansion and technological developments.  Moving to iPhone and iPod Touch allows us to take the service to a significant new potential audience and deliver fantastic programme content from the BBC and the UK’s creative industry.”

“The extension of the BBC Global iPlayer App onto iPhone and iPod Touch is a significant development in our strategy as it will open up the opportunity for a whole new audience to enjoy the best moments from seventy years of brilliant BBC programmes, wherever and whenever they want,” added Jana Bennett, BBC Worldwide President of Worldwide Networks and Global iPlayer.

“The App is perfect for modern audiences who have incredibly fast paced lifestyles and want to watch their favourite shows when and where they choose, which is increasingly whilst they are on the move. Taking the App to iPhone and iPod Touch was a natural progression following the launch on iPad earlier this year and brings an even greater level of portability and convenience to the service.”

SPOILER ALERT!

Robin from How I Met Your Mother – Is definitely not the mother!

It has been revealed by the producers that Robin actually never goes on to be a mum. The confirmation actually came four years ago, according to exec producer Carter Bays. “I would point people to the episode from Season 3 [titled] ‘Little Boys,’ he says. “In that episode, Robin’s grappling with the fact that she doesn’t particularly like children. And it ends with [Future Ted] explaining that she did go on to eventually like children in the form of Ted’s kids.”

In case there remains any doubt, Bays states for the record that Robin “doesn’t become a mum.” Does that mean she ends up with Barney? Let’s wait and see!

How I Met Your Mother will return in 2012 on Channel Seven.
