Just to let you guys know; I’ve actually done a quick switcheroo. The original number five place getter now stands at number four, and you may see why tomorrow.

Intro: Jesinta Campbell entered Celebrity Apprentice Australia as the only female model of the group. Expected to spice the competition up with her looks and charm; she quickly made headlines after being spotted in her bikini washing cars! All throughout the show, Jesinta made a name for herself as the young contestant with an eye for maturity. She was well spoken, received good criticism for her conduct in challenges and in the boardroom, and even managed a win as project manager in the first task! Jesinta made it all the way to the finale only to be fired at the final hurdle with team member Shane Crawford. Safe to say Deni Hines had something to do about that.

Why She Made The List: Originally, Jesinta Campbell was in number four position, however despite Nine’s love for her personality, I do believe she belongs at number five. Still, it aint a position to be sneezed at. Jesinta was one of the most prolific people to enter the show this year after Tweeted images of her washing a car in a bikini were unravelled. The audience fell in love with her and her honest game play. It took a while for her to learn the ropes, first getting in trouble for coming up with the team name ‘Bouris’ Babes’ and then for not answering Bouris’ question about who was the weakest link in a challenge with an honest answer. But after that, she became a shining beacon of hope. She was a firm favourite to win for a brief period of time, but in the end, I think Australia was just happy to have her in the final.

Legacy: Again, not really necessary for a celebrity, but this show certainly has fired up her career. Along with Cameron Williams, she will co-host Nine’s coverage of the New Year’s Eve fireworks. A very interesting choice that anyone who has watched Celebrity Apprentice knows will probably not backfire. She then begins a few weeks of weather watching with Weekend Today, which I believe begins on New Years Eve.

So I hope I’ve made the right decision by downgrading her to number five, but you should all agree that tomorrow’s entrant is nothing short of worthy of a top four position. The entrant made it in for their enormous generosity, which was equally matched by their spirit of the game. You’ll enjoy this one!

Countdown host Molly Meldrum is finally communicating with nurses and showing ‘relieving’ signs of life after being taken off life support on Christmas Day.

The television host and music critic spoke his first words since his fall; but reporters from the Sydney Morning Herald claim they were almost random, and not in response to any questions.

Something he did mutter though, was a very comforting ‘I’m sore, I’m tired’, indicating that he has suffered no brain injuries that could result in paralysis.

It will still be some time yet before Molly is fully recovered, but it is great to see this larrakin heading in the right direction.

Tim Minchin has lashed out at UK terrestrial channel, ITV1, for cutting a song he penned from The Jonathan Ross Show.

The song was cut because the network found its content, in which Minchin likens Jesus to Jewish actor Woody Allen, inappropriate.

But the Aussie born comedian did not take this news lightly, who claims the network is ‘pandering to Christians who are afraid of anything that challenges their beliefs.’

“I have to admit I’m really f—ing disappointed.”

The comedian claimed to have stressed out about writting the song, having to rewrite it numerous times, only because he thought it was going to be too unfunny. He surely didn’t expect this.

“It’s 2011 – the appropriate reaction to people who think Jesus is a supernatural being is mild embarrassment, sighing tolerance and patient education…And anger when they’re being bigots.”

He went on to claim that producers and writers of the show were happy with the joke, further fueling his confusion.

In a later statement by ITV1, it denied claims it dropped the song due to Christian viewership pressure; blaming it more on the fact Minchin’s performance was ‘not right for the show’.

“We quite often cut shows in the edit, as we shoot more than goes out, and we felt Tim’s appearance didn’t quite feel right for show.

“But we do think Tim’s talented and would love him to work with him on ITV shows again in the future.”

Same old, same old, really.

Would Tim Minchin’s song have been cut in Australia? Do you think ITV1 made the right decision?

ABC1 has finally scheduled an airdate for the acclaimed UK drama, Accused.

Written by Jimmy McGovern of Cracker and The Street fame, the series was supposed to air a few months ago on the channel, before it shelved its initial plans.

Each episode, six in total, focusses on a person who winds up in court.

The series even won the International Emmy Award for a drama.

But the airdate itself is a while off. ABC1 has slated it for a January 21 airdate. That’s right; a Saturday at 8.35pm.

A very good way to start the new year!

Hey guys, this is a trial for a segment that may debut in full in 2012. Basically, fans of other Throng sites may notice that they do Morning Briefings. Currently, Throng Australia doesn’t do these as we opt to discuss news topics in full. However, there are some news items that are quite obscure and may not need as much discussion. These will be mentioned here. Also note that this is a daily dosage, and may not be posted in the mornings.

Hart Of Dixie coming to Saturdays

Fox8 have officially confirmed that CW drama Hart of Dixie, starring The OC’s Rachel Bilson and set in America’s deep south, will air on Saturdays next month. The show, which is co-produced by Josh Schwartz and has a healthy following in the US, will debut at 6.30pm on January 7 2012. FTA viewers were to have this show screened on GO!, however it was onsold to Foxtel.

SBS to air pulled South Park episode

The SBS will finally air the South Park episode, The Human CentiPad, tonight after pulling it from schedules after the death of Steve Jobs. The episode mocks horror film ‘The Human Centipede’ but more importantly the Apple iPad and will air at 9.30pm.

Grandma’s in their 30′s rejoice?

<p>A Hollywood casting agency is calling for Australian grandmothers currently aged in their 30′s for a new shock reality television series, according to The Telegraph. Show’s such as Teen Mom have exploded in popularity in the US, so is this show just an Australian take on a trending genre?

In a stunning turn of events compared to last year; this year’s X Factor winner Reece Mastin has held onto the top ARIA singles chart spot for the fifth week; a welcome Christmas present for the SA teen.

His single, Good Night, has recieved massive airplay and has regularly beat out other hits such as LMFAO’s Sexy and I Know It and Taio Cruz’s Hangover.

Mastin’s song was initially criticized for its likeness to P!nk hit ‘Raise Your Glass’.

It is a success story for The X Factor, especially after last year’s winner Altiyan Childs only ever managed a number eight spot. Back in 2005, winning team Random managed 7 for their debut single.

Mastin’s self-titled album is currently sitting at number 3.

The X Factor returns in 2012 on Seven.

Ready Steady Cook chef Matt Golinski is fighting for his life in hospital after his Tewantin house went up in flames last night.

The horrific house fire, which began as an ‘explosion’ at approximately 3am this morning, has claimed the lives of his wife Rachel and three daughters.

Golinski has suffered third degree burns to 40% of his body and remains in a critical condition at Brisbane Hospital.

According to neighbours, the explosion could be heard up to 200 metres away. Fifteen firefighters took one hour to control the blaze.

Golinski and his family have lived on the street for 8 years.

So far, it is not actually known what started the blaze.

And we’re back! The announcement of the top six, one person each day will now run uninterrupted until New Years Eve.

Intro: Mat Beyer was an interesting character this year. Throughout his modest run on MasterChef Australia, Mat didn’t really do anything too extravagant. He managed to avoid eliminations most of the time, but like many of this year’s contestants, he didn’t manage to make a splash either. In fact, it wasn’t until week ten until Mat was really able to make a splash- and for all the wrong reasons. After being caught using a phone during a challenge (not seen on camera) Matt Preston visited the MasterChef house to tell the contestants that Mat broke the rules for whatever reasons, and will be expelled from the competition thus ending Mat’s dream to be the third MasterChef.

Why He Made The List: Mat’s expulsion was probably the single most prolific event from this year’s MasterChef season. It was a first for the show, and critics were polarised as to whether it was a good or bad look for the show which was starting to show some wear and tear. Like many scandals, Mat’s ‘PhoneGate’ affair began to attract conspiracy theories. As the reason Mat had a phone in the first place was because he was trying to keep track of events after a family member of his went missing, many thought the show purposely jumped to the expulsion conclusion to improve the shows ratings. That was backed up by Mat’s father. But he did break the rules and Mat has accepted this. In the end, this has gone down as one of the biggest events of the reality television calendar for 2011.

Legacy: Other than the one hundred interviews he did about his axing; Mat has strayed away from the spotlight. There were rumours he may return to the show; but things have been relatively quiet on the Mat side of things. If anyone actually has any information on what he may be doing; please feel free to comment!

A very prolific top six entrant indeed. Tomorrow, we enter the coveted top five. The entrant made it in for their enormous generosity, which was equally matched by their spirit of the game. You’ll enjoy this one!

Could TEN be getting a new look for 2012?

Recent promotions currently airing on the network for shows such as Young Talent Time, New Girl, The Biggest Loser and The Graham Norton Show all feature a bigger, brighter, unicolour logo in either yellow or blue; indicating that TEN will be dropping their old logo which consisted of a blue inner circle encompassed by a yellow ring.

Anyone who frequents the Recruits: Paramedics Facebook Page will also see that the TEN logo has been dropped from its pictures and the above picture has been added to its photo album.

The change isn’t a dramatic overhaul to say the least; but after several years of hardly any deviation in terms of on screen presentation, it would definitely be a step in a different direction for TEN.

Something to ponder about in the coming week. If any change is imminent, it should be noticeable in the week before ratings resumes for 2012 which is when TEN usually update their presentation for the year.
