ELEVEN’s strongest night yet – at 5.6%, but still not quite strong enough to surpass GO – at 6.5%. The fight between the digitals last night was between GO and ELEVEN, with both channels having numerous shows in the top 50. Big Bang on GO was most watched at 433,000, ELEVEN’s best was the Simpsons at 316,000. Neighbours 259,000, as was the Inbetweeners on GO!

Flood specials and coverage still dominate TV scheduling – at least last night, it appears the ratings reflect what actually aired.

From Countdown to The Big Gig, from The Late Show to Spicks and Specks, ABC TV’s Gordon St studios have played host to many of Australia’s finest and funniest entertainment programs. Now a new tenant has been handed the keys.

Adam Hills is having a crack at a new show – a weekly, hour-long talk show – in his own inimitable style.

Adam Hills In Gordon St Tonight will have all the usual talk show trimmings – celebrity guests, great comedy and live music – with all the excitement and spontaneity you’d expect from one of the country’s best live comedians.

In his 21 years as a stand-up comic Adam Hills has become renowned world-wide for his lightning wit, inclusive nature and penchant for ad-libbing with a crowd. His shows have a reputation for running off on audience-led tangents that result in unpredictable outcomes, often involving his Twitter followers in the joke.  The everyday suddenly turns into comedy.

With his new show Adam will be bringing that unique and unpredictable live experience to television. Great chats, great music, great comedy, and a dash of the unexpected. That’s what Adam Hills in Gordon St Tonight is all about.

Adam Hills In Gordon St Tonight will screen Wednesdays at 8.30pm on ABC1, premiering February 9. The program will be repeated on Saturdays at 7.30pm, ABC2 and the series will also available on ABC iView.

Note: Adam, Myf and Alan will be back with a 7th series of Spicks and Specks after Easter.

Coverage of Round 3 (Sunday, January 16 AEDST) and the Final Round (Monday, January 17 AEDST) will be available in 3D as an extension to the HD and SD coverage screening on FOX SPORTS 1HD and FOX SPORTS 1. FOX SPORTS main HD and SD coverage will commence LIVE at 11.00am AEDST on both days.

FOX SPORTS 3D coverage of the Sony Open will showcase all the action from specific holes on the picturesque Waialae Country Club, providing an immersive 3D experience for viewers as the world’s best golfers compete in the first full field PGA event of 2011.

FOXTEL customers with a FOXTEL iQHD set-top-unit, who also subscribe to the Sports Package and have a 3D capable TV will be able to tune into FOXTEL 3D Channel 201 to watch Round 3 and the Final Round of the 2011 Sony Open LIVE in 3D, as well as the repeat 3D broadcasts of the same rounds over subsequent days.

To watch the 2011 Sony Open 3D repeat broadcasts, FOXTEL Sport Package subscribers will need to access Channel 201 via a FOXTEL iQ2 set-top-box connected to an HD 3D capable TV.

As 3D continues to sweep the world’s interest, this will be the third sport FOX SPORTS has transmitted in 3D, following last year’s historic 3D coverage of football (Socceroos v New Zealand) and tennis (2010 French Open Women’s Final and 2010 US OPEN Men’s & Women’s Singles Finals).
