Seven Melbourne won Thursday with a 29.6% share and the night’s three most-watched shows – SEVEN NEWS, HOME AND AWAY and TODAY TONIGHT

SEVEN NEWS was Melbourne’s top show last night with 371,000 viewers. It was also the Number One news bulletin, ahead of National Nine News (336,000), ABC News (267,000) and Ten’s News at Five (227,000).

HOME AND AWAY (367,000) dominated at 7pm – out rating Nine’s Two and a Half Men (300,000) and ten’s Friends (158,000).

TODAY TONIGHT (339,000) was the third most watched show of the night and Melbourne’s number one public affairs program, defeating Nine’s A Current Affair (324,000).

At 7:30pm MAKE ME A SUPERMODEL came out on top (288,000) in 10th position against Nine’s Getaway (277,000) and Ten’s Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader (252,000).

At 8:30pm HEROES attracted 317,000 viewers and was ranked 7th for the evening. Nine’s The Strip was down at number sixteen and only managed 245,000.

The 2008 ARIA Awards will feature performances by the cream of Australian music talent including multiple nominees GABRIELA CILMI, THE LIVING END, THE PRESETS and SAM SPARRO , as well as international sensation P!nk with more to be announced.

In what is arguably the most eclectic and exciting group of music artists to land on the ARIA honour roll, winners across the final 20 categories will be announced by an exciting variety of special guest presenters.

Network Ten's broadcast of the 2008 ARIA Awards will also include highlights from the red carpet.

After a prominent politician’s daughter and her school friend are kidnapped, Kerry (Catherine Mc- Clements) and the Tactical Response team must run a covert operation to safely recover the girls. They soon realise the kidnapping may not be what it first seemed.

Elle and Donna are lucky to escape with their lives when something goes wrong with Elle's new car and the vehicle plunges off the road. Lucky for Elle, Lucas arrives on the scene and pulls her from the car before it explodes – in her concussed state she reveals exactly how she feels about her rescuer. But while Elle prefers to blame Donna for causing the accident, Lucas suspects that gullible Elle bought a dangerous car in a shonky deal, and he intends to prove it.

Today is shearing day as the Outback 8 visit a working cattle and sheep station. The eight drench and tag the sheep, a process to inoculate them from ticks and provide identification. To everyone’s surprise, one of smaller sized eight proves to be the best shearer.

Last week on the show, we saw a magician and a dolphin trainer try their luck in Rove's classroom.

How will this week's contestants go?

First up we have Chris, a 25 year old fireman from Victoria who is a bit of a romantic. He earns this title after sharing with Rove a very unique love story.

Second in line is the talented singer Ricki-Lee Coulter. Her time in Rove's classroom will go towards helping a very special organisation - Jeans for Genes.

Join, Daniel, Jesse, Sara, Sean and Summer – the new class of 5th graders for 2008 on hand to help the adults of Australia in their quest to win up to $500,000.

This second week of the second season on TEN they'll be joined by Carl Barron, Corinne Grant and Stephen K Amos.

On Sunday night they once again take to the stage and perform. The theme this week? A surprise! Will your favourite rise to the challenge of performing a song they potentially have never sung before?

Judges Ian 'Dicko' Dickson, Marcia Hines and Kyle Sandilands are tasked with critiquing our Idols and providing them with areas they can improve on as well encouraging and supporting them through their emotionally and physically exhausting journey.

Voting lines open as soon as the final contestant has performed on the Sunday night, giving Australia an opportunity to vote for their favourite contestant and hopefully keep them in the competition.
