Guest panel includes: Tony Abbott, Tanya Plibersek and Greens Senator Bob Brown

Expect lively debate when three feisty Federal politicians – Liberal Tony Abbott, Labor’s Tanya Plibersek and Greens leader Bob Brown - join Q&A host, Tony Jones, in an unscripted hour of must watch live television.

With questions being asked by the studio audience and the viewing public – via the website or sms 197 55 222 – it will be a spontaneous, unpredictable roller coaster ride.

“The show’s content will be shaped by audience questions and viewers at home who can email and text in queries,” Tony Jones says.

“We don’t put any restrictions on the topic and doing it live adds an edge that most programs don’t have. We don’t expect things to get out of control but we expect things to get lively.”

Meanwhile, Q&A is also looking for viewer video contributions to end the program each week.

Q&A Executive Producer, Peter McEvoy, wants punters to upload their own “mash up” video (60 seconds max) with a satirical take on Australian politics and politicians.

In last week’s opening program which featured Prime Minister, Kevin Rudd, Q&A closed the show with a ‘mash up’ from 23-year-old Sydney law student, Hugh Atkin. “Kevin Rudd – Chinese Propaganda” featured a parody of Maoist political ‘advertising’ which cleverly tied the PM’s well-known interest in China into a pastiche of political speak and imagery.

“Each week we will close the show with one of the best submissions,” McEvoy says. “We hope to uncover some great new talent and put some laughter into the political discourse.” Video satirists can upload their contributions at http://www.youtube.com.abcqanda

*Tony Jones will continue to present Lateline twice a week.

** Broadcast live on ABC1 in Tas, Vic, ACT, NSW & Qld. Delayed ABC1 telecast in SA, NT & WA.

***Live streaming online available nationally.
