Ratings Monday March 8, 2010

A shocker of a night for Ten with the network ratings about half of what both Seven and Nine did. Ten’s top show is the 5pm News with just under a million, but that doesn’t actually count towards the networks’ prime time shares which kick in from 6pm - midnight.

Top show for the night was Two and a Half Men, thanks to abnormally huge numbers in Melbourne. In Sydney, 2.5 Men is 7th show. My Kitchen Rules stayed around the 1.4 million mark and the Mentalist easily won the 8.30pm timeslot despite last night’s episode being one of the most boring episodes of the show so far.

The Oscars did well live, and the 9.30 replay rated around 700,000, but that was nothing compared to last years event hosted by Hugh Jackman which was a much better show than this years was. It was probably one of the most boring ceremonies for several years, and the ratings seem to reflect that.

I'm confused. You wrote that Seven's channel share is 26.9% and 7TWO is 3.6%. How is it possible that Seven's total Network share equals 20.5%?
