Seven is home for news and public affairs

Channel Seven’s news and public affairs hour continued to dominate on Wednesday with Seven News and Today Tonight beating the competition and finishing in the Top Ten.

SEVEN NEWS (401,000) was the Number One news bulletin – locally and nationally. In Melbourne, Seven News presented by Peter Mitchell, trumped National Nine News (374,000) and was among the Top Five shows.

At 6.30pm, TODAY TONIGHT (362,000) led over Nine’s A Current Affair (345,000).

CRIMINAL MINDS – RPT (367,000) was also among Wednesday’s Top Ten shows. It out-psyched McLeod’s Daughters (256,000) on Nine, House – RPT (244,000) on Ten and ABC’s Freezing (273,000).

The debut of MAKE ME A SUPERMODEL hosted by Jennifer Hawkins attracted 1.065 million viewers overall, ahead of Ten’s So You Think You Can Dance (1.045 million).

Seven’s audience share was 25.1 per cent to Ten’s 21.9 per cent, Nine’s 27.6 per cent, ABC’s 20.1 per cent and SBS 5.3 per cent.
