A look back at some of Rove’s finest moments from 2007
Friday, November 30th at 8:30pm
Rove might be wrapping up his show Rove Live for 2007, but TV3 is giving you the opportunity to catch up on some of his best episodes that you might have missed over the year. The Best of Rove 2007 starts on Friday, November 30th at 8:30pm on 3.
After a late start this year while Rove was coping with the death of his wife Belinda, Rove threw himself back into his work and turned out a great season of his popular talk show.
With a new, more competitive timeslot from the Ten network at home in Australia, and record ratings for the show, Rove looks to be stronger than ever. He also moved into a new timeslot in New Zealand, moving from 9:30pm to 8:30pm on Friday nights.
This year, Rove even had interest from some American executives, and presented two of his shows from the States – one in New York, and one in LA. Whether or not his show will reach the Americas is yet to be seen.

News Rove's return well-timed, says sidekick Helliar
26 Mar TuiKiwi's Blog | 1 comment | 553 reads

SYDNEY - The return of Rove McManus to live television may be earlier than many expected following the death of his wife Belinda Emmett, but friend and sidekick Peter Helliar believes the timing is "perfect".
Rove, which has dropped the Live from its name, returns to Australian television on Sunday at 8.30pm in one of the week's most hotly contested timeslots.
It will be less than six months after his actress wife of 18 months succumbed to cancer, aged 32.
"Obviously, Rove needed some time," said Helliar, who has been associated with the presenter since the show began on the Nine Network in 1999.
"A lot of people who work on the show needed time. And there was no pressure from anyone on when to come back. But he's ready, we're all ready."

Rove: It's time to laugh again
MARCUS CASEY
March 08, 2007
ROVE McManus is ready to make people laugh again and will return to television on April 1, five months after his partner Belinda Emmett lost her fight against cancer.
But he now faces his toughest career challenge yet as Channel 10 has moved his show variety/comedy Rove Live from Tuesday nights to 8.30pm Sunday, one of TV's most competitive hours.
McManus was told of Ten's decision in a four-hour meeting three weeks ago and decided to risk his reputation by taking on the massive challenge.
"It's really good to be back at work after so much time away,'' he said yesterday.
"It has been great to be thrown back into the chaos of producing our show.
"I assume this means Ten will pay us double time for working the Sunday shift - I got that at the bottle shop (I worked at) when I was 18.''
The meeting came after McManus spent summer grieving in Perth with his family after Emmett died on November 11, eight years after being diagnosed with breast cancer.

Rove McManus will meet key members of his production team within the fortnight to decide his television future.
The bereaved star, who lost his wife, Belinda Emmett, to cancer in November, will meet executive producer and Rove Live co-creator Craig Campbell to determine if he will return to air.
Channel Ten has indicated a possible return date for Rove Live in March. Campbell told The Sun-Herald McManus was yet to make up his mind.
"We'll get together in mid-February and discuss when we're going to come back on air," Campbell said. "It's his call really. I can't discount [returning in March] but it does feel a little rushed."
Campbell confirmed the Roving Enterprises office in Melbourne had been closed indefinitely after the death of Emmett. "We just went, 'You know what, let's shut down', " Campbell said. "We have a deal with Ten to come back, we've just got to work out when we want it."
A spokeswoman for Channel Ten said the station was prepared to accept any decision made by McManus, who is a multiple Gold Logie winner.
News Belinda Emmett laid to rest

Last year a beaming Rove McManus walked down the aisle of a Sydney church with his soul mate and brand new bride on his arm.
On Friday he walked down the same red carpet bearing her coffin.
The TV host looked drawn and grim as he led pallbearers carrying the casket of Belinda Emmett, the singer and soap star who lit up his life until cancer took her away last weekend at the tragically young age of 32.
The popular, down-to-earth showbiz couple had married at the same church - the ornate, cream St Mary Immaculate at Waverley - just 22 months earlier.
A grief-stricken Rove emerged with his wife's coffin to the ironic strains of Always Look On the Bright Side Of Life, sung in the crucifixion scene of Monty Python's comically irreverent movie Life Of Brian.
No disrespect intended, said the parish priest - this was meant to be a celebration of Belinda Emmett's short but fun-filled life.
Rove, understandably, appeared far too grave to take the song at its word and whistle in the face of death.

Rove McManus brings you another fun-packed show featuring comedians Jack Black and Kyle Gass from rock band Tenacious D, and Australian rock band Jet performing on Rove Live screening on Friday, November 24th at 9:30pm on 3.
Jack Black (King Kong, School Of Rock) and Kyle Gass have a rock band called Tenacious D, the self-proclaimed “greatest band in the world”.
Their style meshes rock with other musical styles such as folk metal and at times comedy rock, and they are known for their upbeat classic rock style and vulgar comedy.
The band has a new film coming out called Tenacious D in: The Pick Of Destiny, directed by Liam Lynch who helmed their Tribute video, which portrays the fictional beginnings of the band and their rise to super-stardom.
Rove McManus interviews the band via satellite about their new film and their highly anticipated new album The Pick Of Destiny to accompany the film.
