This week on RSPCA ANIMAL RESCUE, a dog has been tethered under a house in Brisbane for several weeks and the tenants have just up and gone.

The terrier might be tiny but he puts up a good fight when Inspector Julia Steley tries to remove him. Despite time in rehabilitation and with animal behaviourists, the dog struggles to pass its temperament test.

Also in Brisbane, the RSPCA is called to attend an emergency rescue. A cow has slipped down the bank into a river and can’t get itself out. As the cow struggles, it becomes fatigued and is being overcome by the rising water. And to add to its pain, she’s just gone into labor.

Meanwhile, in Sydney, a man has watched his best friend and flatmate neglect and ignore his dog for months. He calls in the RSPCA to remove the dog from a small pen she has been kept in for months on end. Attention starved and badly in need of veterinary care, Inspector Matt French has grounds for immediate seizure.

Narrated by ANTHONY FIELD, RSPCA Animal Rescue follows inspectors and staff of the RSPCA as they rescue, protect and prevent cruelty to the animals of Australia.
