This week on RSPCA ANIMAL RESCUE, Sydney Inspector Matt French is called out to a home where a kelpie is struggling to feed and nurture her pups.

She needs a lot of nutrition – the feed coming from her owners just isn’t enough and the pups are suffering from worms. The owner surrenders the dogs, but it’s now up to the RSPCA to see if the mother and puppies can be brought back to health and adopted out to new homes.

Meanwhile, in Brisbane, Inspector Katie Heaton attends a call about some goats in a rubbish tip. Inspecting the property from the fence line, she can see that there is tin and sharp metal everywhere – a minefield for the goats. Speaking to the owner, she recommends they are removed from the property for their safety. Katie follows up later to find the goats have been given a new, more appropriate home.

And in Melbourne, there is a cat that has been stuck about 30 feet up a tree for five nights. Arriving on the scene, Inspector Maree Crabtree sees that she will need to call in extra help to reach that cat which keeps climbing higher up the tree. Two cherry-pickers later, she rescues the cat and returns it to a very relieved owner.

Narrated by ANTHONY FIELD, RSPCA Animal Rescue follows inspectors and staff of the RSPCA as they rescue, protect and prevent cruelty to the animals of Australia.
