This week in the season two finale of RSPCA Animal Rescue, two dogs in rural western Sydney have freed themselves from their chains and attacked three sheep on a neighbour’s property.
In defence of her livestock, the neighbour has shot and killed the dogs, and dumped their bodies back at the owner’s house. The RSPCA investigates.
Meanwhile, in Brisbane, Inspector Laurie Stageman has received a call about a goose with an injured wing. After arriving at the reported address, Laurie attempts to lure the bird with food to try and trap it. But when this doesn’t work, Laurie must go to plan B – wade into the water and try to catch it by hand.
Also in Brisbane, ambulance officer Katrina Farmer has one busy day, attending a variety of situations and rescuing animals trapped in unusual places. First up, she is called to the aid of a family cat which has gotten into a drain but now doesn’t seem to be able to move. After a quick rescue, Katrina assesses that the cat is paralysed from a tick and takes it in for treatment. Next it’s to help some baby Magpies that seem to be abandoned high in a tree.
Narrated by ANTHONY FIELD, RSPCA ANIMAL RESCUE follows Australia’s RSPCA inspectors as they rescue, protect and prevent cruelty to the animals of Australia.
