Police are called in after reports of dog abuse. A former circus pony checks in for a pedicure and pet cats get caught up in a domestic dispute.
Brisbane inspector Katie Heaton arrives at an address to investigate claims that a dog has been thrown down a set of stairs. Because of a previous incident, Katie calls in police backup in case she needs to seize the dog. Katie suspects the dog’s overly timid manner indicates abuse. The dog is taken to the RSPCA shelter and after an extraordinary personal effort from one staff member, finds a loving home.
On NSW’s South Coast, inspector Tony Croker investigates a report of a limping pony, whose severely overgrown hooves are to blame for her pain. Vet Jarrod Coleman reveals that ex-circus pony Misty is overdue for a much-needed manicure. Confronting Misty’s owner Richard, who says he has tried to do his best for his horse, the RSPCA help find a farrier to treat Misty’s hooves.
The RSPCA arrive at an address where cats locked in a strange labyrinth of cages are being fed dog food. The animals are part of a domestic dispute between Charles and his ex-wife. Brisbane inspector Daniel Young speaks to the ex-wife over the phone before seizing two cats. After much love and attention at the RSPCA, both cats find new homes.
