Carla struggles to maintain her heritage while J.D. realises he uses nicknames because he doesn’t know anybody’s real name.

Carla worries that she is losing her identity and as a result her daughter will not know her Latin heritage. Turk doesn’t know how to assure his wife that their child will know about her lineage.

Meanwhile, J.D. angers the staff when they realise that he uses nicknames because he doesn’t know their real names. The Janitor challenges him to identify everyone in the hospital and if he can’t, J.D. must take up the mop for a day.

Elsewhere, in a case of lost identity Dr. Cox realises that he is lonely without his wife and children.
