
Seven News dominates in Week Nine

Seven Melbourne finished week nine of official ratings with a 28.8 per cent All People share and eight shows in the Top 20 – more than any other station.
Viewers turned to Seven for all their news coverage. SEVEN NEWS – SUNDAY was last week’s most-watched bulletin with 550,000 viewers, pummelling National Nine News Sunday (390,000) and ABC News Sunday (287,000), and was the third most watched program of the week.
SEVEN NEWS (Monday to Friday) saw 406,000 viewers make the switch, beating National Nine News (367,000) and ABC News (319,000), while SEVEN NEWS SATURDAY (372,000) also led the charge with a firm lead over National Nine News Saturday (370,000) and ABC (304,000).
DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES (497,000) sent the opposition flying as a tornado hit Wisteria Lane. Nine’s Sea Patrol II (422,000) and Good News Week (278,000) on Ten were forced to seek refuge.
RSPCA ANIMAL RESCUE (490,000) and THE REAL SEACHANGE (379,000) dominated the 7.30pm timeslot on Wednesday night with an easy win over Ten’s Rules of Engagement (282,000) and Back To You (316,000) and Nine’s My Kids A Star (191,000) which fell to 107th position.
GLADIATORS (484,000) were ready on Sunday night, knocking out The Biggest Loser (410,000) on Ten and Nine’s Animal Emergency (305,000).
BORDER SECURITY – AUSTRALIA’S FRONT LINE (462,000) secured a Top 10 finish while SCU:SERIOUS CRASH UNIT (450,000) rounded out the hour with a strong lead over Nine’s David Attenborough’s Life in Cold Blood (410,000) and The Truth About Binge Drinking (266,000) on Ten.
SEVEN’S AFL ROUND SIX: FREEMANTLE VS GEELONG (441,000) was the leading goal kicker on Friday night, sending Ten’s movie Elizabethtown (155,000)and The Upside of Anger (147,000) on Nine to the bench.
IT TAKES TWO finale (439,000), which saw Julia Morris take out the title as series three champion, hit all the right notes with a win over Nine’s The Moment of Truth (239,000).
Nine’s medical drama ALL SAINTS (405,000) was first on the scene while Ten’s NCIS (362,000) and Ladette To Lady (294,000) on Nine were forced to seek medical attention.
At 5:30pm week-nights DEAL OR NO DEAL was the winner with an average of 230,000, ahead of Nine’s Antique Roadshow (204,000).
Overall, Seven finished the week with a 28.8 per cent share. Nine had 27.0 per cent, Ten 23.4 per cent, ABC 15.8 per cent and SBS 5.0 per cent.
