Seven's News and Public Affairs Number One

Channel Seven Melbourne had a strong Wednesday night win with an all people share of 25.0 per cent. News and public affairs were number one on Seven.

SEVEN NEWS (428,000) was the second most watched program of the night and the leading news service with a solid win over National Nine News (413,000) and ABC News (394,000). Seven News was also the number one news program nationally with 1,601,000 viewers.

TODAY TONIGHT (368,000) had the scoop over Nine's A Current Affair (362,000).

HOME AND AWAY (292,000) sent Ten's Big Brother (247,000) into the diary room.

DEAL OR NO DEAL (238,000), hosted by Andrew O'Keefe, was the correct choice with a lead over Nine's Antiques Roadshow (235,000).

SECONDS FROM DISASTER (136,000) had a clear lead over Nine's movie The Tuxedo (128,000) and IPL Twenty20 Cricket (75,000) on Ten.

People were first to switch on to Seven in the mornings, with SUNRISE (79,000) and Today (71,000) on Nine. Audiences stayed at 9am, with THE MORNING SHOW (40,000) dominating its timeslot over Nine's Mornings with Kerri-Anne (31,000) and 9am with David & Kim (24,000) on Ten.

Overall, Seven had an audience share of 25.0 per cent, Ten 24.3 per cent, Nine came in third spot with 23.2 per cent, the ABC 22.1 per cent and SBS 5.5 per cent.
