The begining of last year TV one here in New Zealand which at the time had the rights to broadcast the V8 supercars, put on a digital free veiw sports channel which gave us V8 supercar peterolhead fans live coverage of qualifing and all the races when they happened. At the begining of this year TV3 earned the right to broadcast the V8 supercars and we were told things were going to be so much better, but now find we are veiwing qualifing and race 1 prerecorded on sunday afternoon with race 2, which I'm not sure is live or not and race 3 at 10.30 to late at night also prerecorded.I have emailed TV3 for a response and recieved no reply.I'm enjoying your V8 extra programe on TV3, sunday afternoon every other weekend and thought maybe you could put the question to the powers of be why TV3 can't put on a sports channel and give back the kiwi V8supercar fans our live qualifing and racing.Keep up the good work.David

it was interesting to note the reporters comments on Garth Tanders apparent anger with the flag marshalls after race two at winton.Flag marshall's are instructed NOT to blue flag any car being lapped,as the powers that be seem to think they can do a better job through their own timing systems. This system has been in place since last season, and no doubt Mr.tander has attended drivers briefings, and would have been aware of the procedure regarding lapped cars.I think he would have been lamenting the fact that there were no blue flags because the marshalls arent'allowed to do what they are there for.Not because they are not capable,as was the impression given by the reporters comments.I suggest this reporter attends a marshalls briefing prior to the next v8 race, just so as he can get his facts straight, and in future he will know what he is talking about.

A jump start is only if the car is moving before and while the lights go out. Or if the car has moved past the control line before the lights go out. It's is deemed OK to have moved before the lights go out as long as the front wheels don't cross the control line. It's something that is very closley looked at by the stewards so I'm guessing both cars your referring to were stopped before the control line as the race started.

G'day, could you explain to me what constitutes a jump start because unless I was seeing things both Tander and 1 of the HRT cars both moved and stopped prior to the start of race 1 NZ. I was also interested to note that unless I missed it in a pitstop to the fridge there was no replay of the start mmmm interesting!!!! Cheers. CRAIG
