Three swimmers are rescued but one remains missingon SURF PATROL. It’s a busy day for lifesavers at Gunnamatta with multiple rescues. And a boat race causes headaches for patrols at Broadbeach.
Three swimmers are rescued by lifesavers but one remains missing at Brunswick Heads on the NSW Far North Coast. The boy is a local, which makes the search even more difficult. The lifesaver chopper, inflatable raft boats (IRBs) and jet skis are all involved in the frantic search. Will they find the boy in time?
Lifesavers at Gunnamatta in Victoria have begun to pack up for the day when they spot two boogie board riders caught in a rip. On the way out to rescue them, lifesavers make a snap decision to alter course and rescue a girl they spot in trouble. Once she is safely on shore, the IRB turns around to rescue the others.
Testing conditions for boat races at a Broadbeach Surf Carnival leave the surf patrol worried that an overturned boat or loose oar may end up between the flags. With conditions further up the beach too dangerous for swimmers, lifesavers remain on the lookout for trouble.
Made with the full co-operation of Surf Life Saving Australia, SURF PATROL follows the daring and dangerous work of its volunteers across the country.
