Amongst all of Nine’s self promo and coming soon ads recently is the BBC series Survivors. Survivors is an apocalyptic mini series based on a killer flu wiping out the nation.
The UK based show tells the story of the killer flu striking down 90% of the country, from the Prime Minister down. The story focuses on the several characters in Manchester: a mother, a prisoner, a Muslim child, a wealthy young man, a doctor and more.
Julie Graham plays Abby Grant, the mother whose husband and neighbours are dead, but is determined to find her teenage son. Max Beesley as Tom Price - a prisoner who is immune to the virus that has killed his cellmate. Phillip Rhys (who has been in 24 and Nip/Tuck) as Al Sadiq, a wealthy lad who awakens to find his one night stand as well as everybody else has died. Nikki Amuka-Bird plays the Health Minister who tries to maintain a lie to the nation for its own good, but in time, the lie can longer be maintained.
Survivors aired in the UK as a 6 part mini series late 2008. Survivors premieres on Nine at 9.30 Sunday, March 21 - right after V’s 3rd instalment. Not a bad choice of timeslot, having Survivors follow V.

Unfortunately, Survivors did not rate well for Nine so I'd be surprised if Nine plays out the rest. A run on GO might be likely at some stage, or summer on Nine?

I'm kind of annoyed by channel nine, they repeated V and not showing survivors series either. Like seriously, V was played repeatedly already via GO(ch 99) then tonight as well, the same episode! And what happened to survivors? It's only 6 episodes(mini-series) and we're left in a limbo for the remaining 3 episodes. Just can't believe it!! So much for "not a bad choice of time slot" quoted above when it doesn't even exist!hannah
would love to know when channel nine will be playing the next installments of "Survivors"?
