Just as the AFL lodges a complaint about the up and coming Ben Cousins documentary Such Is Life – The Troubled times of Ben Cousins, Seven have confirmed when it will air across the network.

The two-part documentary will screen across the Network on Wednesday August 25 and Thursday August 26 at 8.30pm.

Produced by Mushroom Pictures, the documentary is informative, courageous and at times sad but, above all, it will give hope and inspiration to many.

Executive Producer Michael Gudinksi said: “When Ben came to me 18 months ago and we talked I knew he had an important story to tell.

“Clearly there was a powerful documentary waiting to be made here so I decided to give him my full support. The end result is deeply emotional and compelling. It’s a cautionary tale – the inside story of a superstar footballer who made some bad choices along the way and ended up in a titanic struggle with drug addiction.

“It’s about a father and a son, about a family coming together to see him through the darkest times. It’s Ben’s personal story – about his struggles and recovery. I’m sure it will send a powerful message to young people. If it helps save one person’s life or helps broaden the community’s understanding of addiction then it all will have been worthwhile.”

City Homicide will move to the special time of Wednesday (Aug 25) 9.30pm for one week only while what will happen with How I Met Your Mother in Sydney and Brisbane on the Thursday night (Aug 26) is not yet confirmed.
